26650 batteries small test: IMR Keepower 4200 & 4500(protected) plus Efest 4200 Green on LD-1 driver / X6M host

Keepower IMR 4200( not protected) vs Keepower 4500( protected) vs Efest 4200ma Green ( not protected): new, charged at 4.2 and rested like 20mins
The driver is LD-1 : i have found that its very sensitive to the battery internal resistance
The emitter is XMl2 U3 2A

So, i have a new favourite 26650 battery obviously, Efest Green 4200 seems to be even better than my old favourite KP 4200, and better performer than Samsung 25r( it gives like 4.4amps at the tail)

Unfortunately, dont have VTC5 to test and compare…

Good to know. Thank you for the test, Mitko.

Good to know Mitko thanks.

Now if we could only buy some LD-1’s………please Led4power start selling them again

That Green cell looks sweet

I have two lights with the LD-1 and an XM-L2 and both reach 5A at the tail with Samsung 25R cells.
I found out that you need to try a few XM-L2s, in the same setup, some just got 4A. I think it has something to do with the slightly different forward voltage of each individuell led.

finges. I'd be interested to know the difference if any of the light output of the two different leds with the different current usage if you have a way to measure it. Thanks.

Sorry, I have no way to measure the light output.
And also I can not see the difference between 4A or 5A to the emitter by eye (I think it is around 200 lumen, 1400 vs 1600).
It is just for the good feeling to get everything out of the battery, driver, led combo

Yes finges, with a lower binned XML2 its quite an easy task- they demand lower voltage

Try it with those new XML2 U2-U3 bins….good luck!

yes, its like 200 lumens, On that Modded X6M the cold start with 4.8 amps at the tail is like 1460-1520

Yes I already tried it with a U3 2A and noticed it does not reach 5A. It comes to slightly less then 4A.
I think I need to order some T6s.

The best 26650 s I have are the purple efest 3500. You should get some, I suspect they will perform better than your green ones

Thants what i am taking about- and i this test i used Exacly the new U3 2A

Tom E did some tests here, those new bins are realy more productive thant old t6s

Can you try XP-L V6? I have some XP-L V6 3D coming but it will stil take some time till they arrive

Ok, nevermind, according to this chart the XP-Ls should have the same “problem”

They need close to 3.9V at 5A (vs. 3.6V what the XM-L2 T6 needs)

yeah they are the same- ppl here claim that the best cores atm go for XPL emitters, they could be right you know

I have V6 2A and some V4 too , but i dont have a free host for them atm, i presume V4 will be easy, V6…probably like those U3
Yet, with a good battery you can easy drive those new ones as you can see

Nope, i bought one Purple 3500k for evaluation, its like the Keepower 4200 one: green are the best so far

Mitko, where did you find the V6 A2??? i need to buy some
Those should be the perfect tint to dedome to get a nice NW tint…….they could end up about in 3D hue.

My favorite light right now has a XP-L V6 3D in it and i want to test a dedomed XP-L in this reflector, but the 3D i suspect could get a bit to warm so the A2 could be a much better starting tint

Interesting that the green beats the purple, that is news to me, thanks

this is a Keepower IMR 4.2Ah versus E-fest green at 5 amps and in this one you can input the KP IMR 4.2 versus the E-fest purple 3.5Ah at 5 amps.In the end , all I see is individual cell variation. Thanks to HKJ and AccuDB.Here are 3 cells , the LG HE , the KP IMR 2.5Ah , known to be a HE2 , and the E-fest purple , to me , no doubt it is a HE2.There you see the variation between 3 identical cells from a quality manufacturer. In fact , it is the same as picking the best output XM-L2 emmitter of the same bin and tint from several examples.

Mitko, maybe you can try this battery http://eu.nkon.nl/mnke-26650-3500-orange-flat-top-battery.html

according to this chart it performs better then your favorite at 20A, so it should be also better at 5A right?

My purple efest does reasonably better then my kp 5200’s.
Can I ask where you purchased your green efest from? I think I will try a couple.

I bought them from an EU supplier, as you are in the US i think you wont be that interested
Yep, purple 3500 is better than any 5200 battery, but not and 4200 especialy Green Efest

My list on 5a current drian is as follows:
Green Efest 4200> Purple 3500>Keepower Black 4200( same as Samsung 25r)> KK 4000ma

On higher loads picture may differ…but personaly i dont care for higher loads for now

Mitko, earlier in this thread i asked where you found the XP-L V6 2A to buy, but you didn’t answer, please tell me where i can find them  i really want some of those, the only 2A i have found is V5’s, banggood & fasttech sells those.

I think the 2A would be the optimal to dedome to get the best NW tint afterwards, that why i want them.
