HD Review: Skilhunt H02C XML Color 18650 Headlamp (RGB & White)

Hi BLF-er’s. I just finished my latest video review for the Skilhunt 4 color H02C RGBW headlamp. It runs off a single 18650 battery, and operates off a single button to access all 12 different modes of operation. Anyway, like all my recent reviews this is just a video review- but it is shot like a short film and contains quite a bit of different footage. There’s 5 different runtime tests, complete mode demonstration, beamshot comparisons between Armytek lights and plenty of night use shots. I forgot to mention it in the video, but all runtime tests were made using a 3400mah Shoshine 18650- and the light fits protected and unprotected cells. Also make sure you watch the video in 1080p if you can, so it’s nice and crisp. Oh and if you like my videos please subscribe to my channel. Every subscriber enables me to do more reviews.

Love your reviews!

I honestly watch these reviews not so much for the flashlight, but for the general movie making skills … which is outstanding! Along the lines of watching Fargo. Really appreciate these! How about introducing the Mrs in one of them?

Lol, “strobe mode enthusiasts”. Good vid man, each one is better than the last!

great way to show the lights!

thank you!

They are fun to make, mainly because I like using my cameras. This isn’t so much about the flashlight- but about improving my video skills and general editing pacing. It may as well be anything else, but people keep wanting to send me the lights.

Thanks again! I did try and make it a bit shorter this time.

Thanks!

Thanks for the compliments. The one I did a while back with the Fenix headlamp- she’s in briefly. I don’t think she’d want to be featured in one though. I probably wouldn’t be in them so much either, but something interesting needs to happen while I’m droning on.

Thanks! I try intergrating a lot of real world use into the videos.

Nicely done!!
Timelaps run times are very usefull.

Thanks for your review

I love when people inject artistic flair into these type of things! Really well done. What kind of camera do you use?

Can you comment on the color reproduction of the white light in the H02c? I’m always looking for something really neutral in a headlamp.

I can’t watch the review now because I have to go out and take down the last of the Christmas lights.

I agree and subscribed to his youtube site.

Keep the reviews going on BLF and thank you.

hope u have a nice staple remover

Thanks!

Oops… I actually use 2 cameras. The Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera and the Panasonic GH3. Since they use the same lens mount, I basically use a bunch of old manual 35mm and c-mount TV lenses to shoot the videos. It makes it muc. Cheaper than modern EF lenses.

It’s definitely a cool white, when I color corrected for the video the light was usually in the cyan range. It’s not quite as cool as the H02 (CW), but close. If you’re looking for a Neutral white light maybe try the H02 in a neutral?

Sounds like you need a headlamp!

Pitty it doesnt have real low modes for color LED’s, would like to buy one if it had!

Yeah… if I could improve two things… it’d be the PWM and the mode spacing in the color modes… The white light though seems good. I guess it just needs an improved driver.

Well, you mentioned that its PWM is high, so its not something youd notice in real life, right? Even when moving rapidly?
Yet, for the price of this light, no PWM should have been implemented.

The PWM is high, but I was still able to notice it sometimes when I moved rapidly. I am sensitive to it, so I can often notice it before I test it with my camera. I decided to gift it to a friend who did not have a headlamp, and does not notice PWM or even know what it is.

Too bad, Im not sure if Im sensitive to PWM or not, but I can see one on my Lumintop SD10 and on UF-H2, even though Im using UF-H2 at the lowest setting.

Some of the worst was the Sky Ray King on the low mode, before I put a new driver in it. It isn’t anywhere near that bad. I’d say it’s similar to the Armytek Wizard Pro v1.5 on Firefly, or maybe just a touch better.

Havent tried neither of them, but if you say its visible, then I might see it too :D!
