Ultrafire Warm white XML dropin at Manafont

Here it is a warm white XML dropin 5 modes

That does look interesting. To bad they dont list the actual bin. Did you order one?

Also, does manafont have an RSS feed that Im not aware of?

I just set my MF account setting to auto buy all new items as they are listed, double order if its 3XML or more.

I usually just click on the LED section. Ill probably get one just to try it.

Waiting for non-blinkie version .

Looks good, but I don't think there are warm XM-L's in a T6 bin. Maybe a T3 if it is warm, T4 or T5 if it is neutral.

The E03 I have is a T4 7C, but thats as high of a flux bin as you’ll get at that tint. The warmest T6 I’ve seen is a 3 tint (~5000K). Just looking at the emitter, it looks to be more warm than neutral.

I don't think mf is familiar with binning yet. XML=T6 probably to most hk vendors.

all we really have to go on right now is the die color.

warm T6

Unfortunately we have no idea how they set white balance in their photo, but that looks like at most 4000K/5A if it's accurate. On the plus side the CREE WW's do seem to be coming w/ higher Vf's so current draw won't be crazy.

interesting, didn't see that one when I bought a drop in last week. damn it

Yeah, this one and the new XPG/red one both have my interest at the moment. I hope they are well built.

I would seriously consider buying this and changing the driver to a 3 mode. I am just afraid it might be yellowish, I can't stand yellow tint. If anyone buys this can they please report in on the actual tint since I have never seen a warm T6 in person and it appears to have a lot of yellow on the emitter.

Have you seen a halogen spotlight MR16 50W before? It is around that, sometimes it could be slightly more yellow ie. closer to normal tungsten light bulbs.

Frankly @ $16 you don't have that much to lose. Not sure why they don't do this in 3mode since I suspect MF probably sells way more of those than the 5. If they did it in 3A tint, and hopefully not 7A <3000K, guaranteed sellout since I can't imagine that many people choosing to get a CW instead.

I've got a pair of this modules few days ago. Pretty warm, perhaps around 3000 K. Don't like reflector, looks like it is not a true parabolic reflector because of the big dark area which surround the led when looked from the front. SMO reflectrom from T6 module would be better.

Both of my modules are dangerously overdriven. I measured over 4 A on both from freshly charged Samsung IRC 18650. But this not results in higher output. In a ceiling bounce test I've got 21 lux from Manafont Ultrafire 5 mode XM-L T6 module, and about 18 lux from this warm white module.

For comparison, Sunwayman V20C also gives me some 18 lux, and this flashlight is declared for 438 OTF lumens.

Here are some beamshots. From left: MF Ultrafire 5 mode T6 module, MF Ultrafire 5 mode warm white module, KD XP-E Q3-5A module, Jet-III M XR-E Q3-5A, DX incandescent 7.4 V module

I'd try unscrewing the pill and see if you can get a better beam. Then you can find something to shim it once you find the sweet spot.

It looks like the led is way too high into the reflector... OR the reflector IS that badly mismatched.

You know it's warm when it's warmer than the incan light.

You said exactly what I was thinking :)
