Adding a Thanks and Multi quote option.

Hello Mods,

i am new to forum and have been surprised by the amazing response i have received over the past few days and the members have been extremely helpful however as a return i do not see any option for “Thanking” the post also unable to see “multi-quote” option. Just as a suggestion i believe adding a ” thanks” button can make a lot of difference.

In case if this post is not relevant mods may remove this thread.

Welcome to BLF, glad to have you here.

Regarding a multi-quote option, unfortunately it’s not available on this forum software. You can manually do it by manually copying different posts and enclosing them with tags.

About the thanks button… Hmm, I’ll have to look into that one.

thanks SB for multi quote yes i am fine doing it manually. but a thanks button will not only boost the morale but also bring a lot of positivity. trust me it works.

Seems that a lot of people already use the “Mark as SPAM” button for that purpose. :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: Oh yeah, forgot to say -> +1 for the “Thanks” button. I don’t know how it would work. Sounds like a lot of changes would have to be made, but it would make it easier to thank people, and also would work as a system to +1 a post you agree with.

Besides BLF, I hang out on a few different forums on various topics. I own two, moderate on one and am a senior member of the other two. Two of those boards have a ‘thank’ feature. One is a simple ‘thank you’ button, the other is more elaborate with like/dislike/agree/disagree/informative/useful. That board is run by Xenforo software. They just went to this format a few months ago and it really is exceptional. The other boards have various option to visit a members profile, leave a message etc.

I don’t know what your software is capable of, but some type of thank/mana/karma button is quite useful if available. Honestly, this board is one of the most informative forums I’m a member of and I’ve notice that questions usually have a plethora of helpful responses. There are quite a number of folks here that I would ‘thank’ if given the option. Does a forum ‘have’ to have it? No, but it sure is a nice feature if available.

I wish the boards I owned had this feature. May have to inquire about that from the host.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. This forum software doesn’t really have a “Thanks” button, but it might be possible to rig something up. Not sure yet.
