DMM

What do you all recommend for a digital multimeter?
All I will be using it for is checking 18650 batteries.
Prefer a USA distributor
Do I really need one or is my Xtar VP1 and VP2 good enough for that?

They are worth having and very useful, not just for flashlights either.

I’d just jump on ebay and grab a cheap one for now. Think I paid £5 for mine.

Few post down is a thread on some cheap DMM

If you don’t mind manual modes, a manual range meter may save money over an auto range meter. I use this meter and would recommend it. If you are checking batteries there is a trick using a 4 ohm 5W resistor to check internal resistance with a DMM and get an idea of the batteries condition.

I’d say that the Xtar VP1 and 2 give accurate voltages and you do not need a DMM for that. You already have above average chargers.Wait til you are more addicted  , then get a proper budget DMM like a VC97/99 , various UNIC models etc. There are loads of threads about DMM choice.

I ended up getting the Equus 3320 Innova Auto Ranging Digital Multimeter

I have been using this Vichy VC99 I won in a giveaway and it works great! Just had to change the test leads because one had a problem, using craftsman test leads and all is good!
