Hi Adam

For 90CRI, i think this is easier to get in approach to Warm White version.

It seems CREE is not willing to release high CRI version for 5000K +.

I will try to see any available tint for CREE XHP35 HI.

Thank you

Ban

Thank you for your efforts in advance.

Specifically for me, 4500K would be the best, but I am also interested in CCT around 5000K-6000K for 90 CRI.

Hi Ban,
Last year (I do not know when exactly because I never made an account on KD) I bought 2 XHP35 Hi leds, 4000K 80CRI from Kaidomain.

I have used them both in a flashlight now and measured CRI, both are 70.1 CRI, so not 80 CRI as listed on your site. Is your whole batch 70 CRI, or are you currently selling a different batch? As you understand I’m a bit disappointed.

This is nothing new: http://budgetlightforum.com/comment/1349278#comment-1349278

And Ban did not respond to that post? Flat Stare

Ban, did you check your current inventory of XHP35 Hi 4000K 80CRI? If these are indeed 80CRI, could I have a replacement of the two wrong 70CRI ones from last year?

Hi

Sorry for the replying you late.

Do you have any order number so that i can refer to?

The current wheel is in CRI80.

Thank you

Ban

No, I’m sorry. I never created an account on Kaidomain because it works fine to send the goods to my PayPal address. And it was still on the old site when I ordered them and your order conformation mail when the old site was still on, did not contain a summary of the ordered items, just an order nr and the amount of money.

So there’s no order nr coupled to the leds. Maybe it is in your administration? (I’m sure there’s just one Jos from Amsterdam Smile )

Hi djozz

I will ask for our colleague to help to follow for your problem.

Sorry for any inconvenience cause to you.

Ban

Hi Ban,
The last I heard to sort out the problem above is an email from Candy on March 26 (so already 5 weeks ago) that she will compare the photo of the led I sent her with the current stock and that she will “reply as soon as possible”.

First, there is nothing you can see at a XHP35 Hi led in a photo that tells you if it is 80CRI or 70CRI, but still she asked for a photo, so useless but I did send her the photo anyway.

Second, 5 weeks is very long for a reply “as soon as possible”, don’t you think?

Is it possible to solve this after all this time?

Hi djozz

Sorry for replying you late.

I will follow this problem and reply to you on this Sunday when i back to office.

Thank you

I finally received replacements for the 2 XHP35 Hi leds that were sold to me last year as 80CRI but that I measured 70CRI.

I soldered one into my Astrolux FT02 and I can confirm that this batch of 80CRI 4000K XHP35 Hi leds from Kaidomain is indeed 80CRI : in the lowest mode I measure 82CRI in the hotspot, in the highest mode 79CRI. Also worth noting is a large CCT shift at different currents, from 3600K in the lowest mode to 4100K in the highest mode. Kind of nice for a light source that the tint warms up at lower output. Smile

Thanks Ban, I’m really happy with these!

@djozz

Glad to see this was resolved. How does the 80CRI tint compare to the 70 CRI variant? Any green? Rosy?

Has anyone tested or compared the efficiency/transmission/beam angle of the kaidomain triple optics vs the Carclo 10507 optic?

The tint of the 70 CRI version is superb, bit rosy indeed, this 80 CRI version (looking at the hotspot) is not as rosy, even a bit above the BBL, but I still like it, and see no green at all, more a bit yellow.

Hi Ban,

Can you please kindly check on my order #5039- it has been processed for some time, and I haven’t seen any updates to its status for a while. I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks a lot 1stein, appreciates it. Thumbs Up

But, sst40/20 or even Nichia 219c/b that I came across with in BLF, are sets of HIGH CRI led. I want to see whether the flashlight beamshot pass High CRI test with great result…

Luminus has a limited set of tints and CRI.
All SST-20 above 4000K is 70CRI, all 4000K and lower is 95CRI.
SST-40, lowest CCT is 5000K is all 70CRI

If only Luminus would release a 5000k 95CRI SST-20 and a high CRI SST-40.

That would be soooo good.

Hi BanL,

I ordered two de-domed SST-40 LED’s, one is a bare LED and the other one on a 20mm MCPCB. The bare LED was wrapped in plastic and put into one of those plastic boxes that LED on MCPCB comes in, and the one bond wire broke off. You should please take care when you package these LED’s. Maybe put those plastic caps that LED’s on a reel comes in over the LED’s when you ship them. Other suppliers do it and it protects the LED very nicely.
