Test/Review of GP AA 1300mAh (Green-White-Orange)

GP AA 1300mAh (Green-White-Orange)

Official specifications:

  • Brand: GP
  • Battery : AA
  • Rechargeable: Yes
  • Protected: No
  • Voltage(V): 1.2V

Maximum temperature raise at different discharge currents: 1A:+1,4°C, 2A:+4,3°C, 3A:+7,3°C, 5A:+12,1°C
This is cheap NiMH batteries with low capacity.

They are slightly low on capacity, but the discharge curves looks acceptable. They do not look really good for high current.

Conclusion

It is not surprising that low capacity batteries has low capacity and the production quality look acceptable (The discharge curves for the two cells tracks).

Compare to other AA/AAA batteries: Alkaline/NiMH/Lithium

Thanks for the test
I have these since some time ago… They died after a few cycles… :weary:

Why, oh why, would GP make a 1300mah nimh cell at a price that is no better than known quality cells with higher mah ratings? The logic escapes me.

Edit: The only thing I can consider is that these cells are rejects from the 1800 and 2400mah production line.

Not likely, with the good match between cell it looks like they are made for this capacity on a fairly good production line.

Is this battery good for low battery draw applications such as clocks or remotes? Thanks for your review HKJ.

Do you have any ideas about those HKJ? I mean is this brand trustable?

They are not rated LSD (Low Self Discharge), i.e. they are not very good for that.

I would stay away from them.

All right man. Advice from you has never been clearer than this. I’ll stay away  Thanks!
