Best 1x18650 light for my need

Still looking for a bright light with throw, most members here suggest/been using a medium size lights in their hiking trip.

I already bought a Trustfire X9 and do you guys consider this big or medium? Still waiting for it to arrive.

Now I'm looking hard at these XM-L lights as seems built quality would fit my needs

1. Ultrafire 980L

2. Trustfire/Ultrafire/KD C8

3. SKY RAY/ Fandyfire STL-V3

Does anyone have a side by side pics of any of these light with a Solarforce L2?

i have 980L already and X9 on the way. what i learned from forums 980L is better than C8 and X9 is better than 980L as a thrower. 980 may have more lumens but, X9 is a better thrower. no idea about STL-V3... if you have x9 already and want a thrower then no need to buy another what i believe. Some guy said its almost even with TK41 :)

Thanks for the info, I have not yet received the X9 and excited to receive it, still thinking if it is the best light for me so i'm looking for more options. As of now my best thrower is the Skyline 1 and RQ moded with XM-L.

Are you saying that the RQ Spear with an XM-L throws as well as a Skyline 1? How hard are you driving the XM-L in it?

The Skyline still throws farther but the RQ has bigger spot and bright Spill, brighter and throws farther than my Fenix LD40. The replaced driver is driving it 2.5, but I did not really tested it. I just replaced the driver from my XM-L KD 5 mode P60 dropin.

Update, I just bought a Keygos KE5, so now I have two thrower lights on the mail and 2x XTAR 2600mah 18700.

You’ll love that light. It’s hard to beat for the price. I know I couldn’t believe a light that small with only 1 battery could be so dang bright.

I wanted to mention I got one like this in the mail yesterday. Slapped a cheap Ultrafire battery in it which aren't very good at all, flicked the switch and this baby is going to be a beam thrower I can already tell that. I'll have to post some shots later on once I get off from working the weekend. Excellent light for $13 shipped. I'm very impressed so far. Thanks for the link, Looks like a real good thrower. I'm getting broke so I'll just have to wait for the 2 new lights before deciding what to get next. I'm already full of anticipation.

I Just received my Trustfire X9, felt it is too big to take in a climb/hike. Now waiting for the Keygos to see if it will be better for my need.
