Does anyone sell pills for a hs-802? Dont care what its made out of.
Afaik just pills with driver and led. Looks like brass.

Figured out what that meant. Yes, brass pill with 16mm led and 17mm driver. Looking for just a blank pill. I know they make a lot of diffrent ones, but cant find that one in paticular.
I have to look up most of them myself. I’ll throw one out once in awhile to help me remember them.
I have bought both red and standard XM-L2 from this seller and he has been great. I had one that was DOA and he took care of it. I think I have at least 3 complete HS-802 from him and all shipped very fast. IIRC I got them in under 2 weeks, which from China I consider to be very good.
Yea, a complete pill will. Work. Was really looking for an empty one just save cost, but extra parts never hurt.
Just got an ’802, and wow, what a nice deep reflector! Got some nice 4500K XP-E2s that should do quite nicely in it.
I wanna do just that, make an assortment of extra pills without having to gut any come-with ones.
Checked FT, but nothing jumped out at me as even remotely looking like it’d fit.
I modded mine with a dedomed xpl and a amc7135 running about 3 amps. Didn’t really want to have any heat issues. I’m sure it would really throw at about 7 amps. I like it better with the xpl dedome than the xr-e, not enough lumens with xr-e. It will throw with a xr-e but the beam is so small it’s hard to spot any critters unless you shine it right at them. It’s laser like. With the xpl the beam increases in size compared to the xr-e but the xpl beam seems way more intense. 230 lumens versus 1200 lumens. You might try a xpl hi v3 or a dedomed xpl v6 in about the 5500k to 6500k range to allow for tint shift. I had tried a xpg in this light several years ago and didn’t like it, I guess it’s because the beam size increased with out a lot of lumen increase. I had changed it back to the xr-e until about a month ago when I tried the dedomed xpl and I like it the best.
What size reflector does this light have?
Yeah, saw a few listings, but wanted to buy nekkid pills in bulk, throw together, well, anything. 
I got an ~4300K XP-E2 in a C8. Nice tight laser-beam, great CT, but yeah, not too powerful. Wasn’t interested in pushing multiple amps through it. Forgot if I was using 1.05A or 1.40A. You could run that all day and not have it get too toasty.
Nice combo. I got an XP-L HI in one of my C8s. Hell if I know which, as they’re all using the same hosts.
Yeah, but then you got those pesky heat problems again.
Hmm, wonder what happened with all the talk about dedoming LEDs. Everybody was going apoplectic at the “secret formulas” being used that no one was sharing, and now… crickets. Seems no one’s dedoming anymore, as everyone’s into the XHPs and whatnot.
I got those HIs that I haven’t used yet… might as well use ’em for something.

Diameterwise, it’s just a hair bigger’n a C8, so if a C8 is 43mm or so, this’d be 45mm or thereabouts.
Depthwise, you could use it as a champagne flute.

Is it much better then the C8 for throw?
I have heard conflicting views on if a deeper reflector helps throw.
I’d have to compare apples with apples, ie, the same chip at the same current in the 2 different lights.
But offhand, I’d say yeah. It’s a little wider, which is always nice (collects more light vs a smaller reflector), but it’s also way deeper, so the cone that forms (spill) is much narrower as well, catching more light and reflecting it forward.
Light that comes straight out and doesn’t hit the reflector is all spill. Kinda useless, all things considered as far as throw.
Light that comes out the sides and hits the reflector is what makes the hotspot, and is all throw. So more light catching the reflector in the ’802 vs the C8 would seem to naturally give more throw.
At least that’s the theory.
Placement of the chip in 3D-space inside the reflector is also way more critical. An off-center LED in a small shallow reflector (eg, S2+) wouldn’t make much difference, but in an ’802 would be horrible.
But this seems to have a nice snug centering ring around the XP-E(2?), and it’s a nice tight beam. No rings or anything nasty like that.
I’d call this a mini-L2.
How good would be place an Osram NM1 5700k-6000k in a 802 Host?

I actually have a NM1 16mm mcpcb, and i’m looking for a host for it. since it’s a 16mm i could only see convoy S2 and this 802.
Also this 802 DIY it weights 242grs so it will handle the heat pretty good thoght.
