Can 2 "55w" hid ballasts be used to drive a 100w hid bulb?

I’m guessing it’s not possible. But It would be cool if it was. These ballasts are 55 chinese watts. So probably not over 45 watts each.

Someone vandalized my car and broke my 4 hid driving lights. I still have the ballasts. I’m thinking about upgrading to a “120w” led bar and 2 100w hid’s.

I don’t think ballasts can be paralleled or put in series. They generate a very high voltage to initiate an arc and drop down to around 60V as the HID bulb warms up. Using two to power one bulb sounds like trouble.

Even if you could disable the ignition part of one ballast:

for more power you would have to connect them in parallel (adding the constant-regulated currents). But these ballasts emit ~400Hz AC, and they would almost short themselves (each other), because there's no way to synchronize the alternating currents.
