What does everyone think about adding a Feedback section for members who Buy/Sell/Trade?

Just a section where everyone who've bought/sold/traded can add comments/experiences

I believe this will happen automatically , without the need for a separate section .

I concur. I think that's an "essential" feature of any forum where people buy/sell, but--amazingly--not present on even some major sites, most notably (and desperately needed) at CraigsList. Another one which comes to mind is Discogs when selling gear in the forums (at least when I was there a few years ago--I think they did have a feedback system for actual music sales). And what's up with Ebay still character-limiting feedback, even negative feedback, to essentially one fairly short sentence (usually there's a longer story behind negative feedback).

I can't make a suggestion on how such a feedback feature would be implemented, though.

In another respect, this being an open forum, the 'regulars' at least get to be known (and know each other), and have a reputation, and a lot of times an individual item is its own thread, where someone could post feedback if they wanted, and a prospective buyer could check out those past threads if they were motivated enough. Then again, like the guy who came here selling bulk 18650's and was not a regular member, someone had to be the first one to risk it on that one... but then again, even with a feedback system, someone always has to be the first to buy from an unknown source.

Just wondering: did you have something more specific in mind?

How about a pair of counters under your user name. One is thumbs up, one is thumbs down. It would be very easy to see when a user posts an item for sale, what his "seller rating" was like. Having 2 separate counters would be good because someone who had sold 10 items with 5 good 5 bad would look different than someone with no sales.

Sounds like a good idea, but how to best implement it?

another forum i was visiting before just had a feedback subsection under BST and if a person bought, sold or traded. they just made a post titled

Jamesearljonesisascab's feedback

and whoever BST just added a comment about their experience positive or negative.

Perhaps something similar to the SPAM rating here, or the 'thanks' function on some forums may work.

I think it makes sense if there is a tremendous amount of items being sold .At this point i think it's unnessesary and some part of me thinks it's just a place to fight like whats ging on in panasonic battery thread .sales between private individuals are seldom and rare on BLF 99% of all transactions are postitive and if you're not 100% pleased you still wouldn't air it out in public ..I wouldn't .. not over a couple bucks ..

I dunno james earljones you've bought from me before should I be nervous ??

I just got these 5 stars and am trying to figure out how to get a 6th...not lose em ..

Folks have to start buying and selling first! This is my only disappointment with BLF-BST is pretty dead.

Ive seen more activity in the past few weeks and having it might help build more trust for those who might be interested in buying. might help sales of some leftover nitecores or modded xpg ex10s
