Been using this Power supply with it really working well.
Have a question thou. Say I have a battery at 4.20 volts and use storage mode mine doesn’t reduce the charge down to 3.7 volts it just stops and says done.
Does yours discharge when you put it in storage mode?
Also when you discharge a battery is your super loud when it starts?
Trying to figure out if I have a defective unit. I use the heck out of it and love it! Great charger/discharger I run it right from my pc.
Forgot to mention I did upgrade the firmware to the latest version.
Hi, i don’t own this charger….but a storage mode “should” discharge….or charge the battery until the storage voltage.I don’t know why your unit don’t do it…but you can always discharge it with discharge mode and just wait until voltage arrives to 3.9v about…3.8v and Stop!
The title now says : SKYRC iMAX B6 “Style” Mini Balance Charger, its been my experience that the word “style” usually means clone. Did you confirm that this is an authentic product ?
The IMAX is the MOST, repeat the MOST copied FAKE (read low quality) hobby charger being sold. If you think you have an IMAX and it’s not working like you think, and you’ve actually READ the manual, and understood it, you may have a FAKE.
Fake is NOT the same as CLONE.
FWIW, I don’t know why anyone would really be too excited about this. It’s got a tad more power and is a tad smaller….big deal. What you want is something you are sure WORKS. If if doesn’t work right, you are screwed.
Ya i ordered this right after it was originally posted without checking to make sure it was correct first, oh well ill check the scratch label, see if its truly authentic and let you all know. I actually like my Fake/Clone B6, its worked great for many years, I just wanted to have an authentic one to replace it with.
These links ONLY address the IMAX B6. There are about a dozen of these clones, all looking pretty similar and using the same basic functions. Inside is a whole host of different components and quality of assembly, just like lights but way more complicated. Read anything by HJK and you rapidly figure out there can be significant differences in similar looking electrical devices.

I’ve owned over 10 of these by the way and have yet to see any variation internally. According to the youtube link you posted I don’t have the ‘fake’ so thanks very much for eliminating my poor burden of doubt.

I’ve got 2 (different brands) and they are different. I’ve been inside 2 others (buddies) and those were different from the others. I’ve watched as my main one Accucel-6, has gone through change over time via an extensive thread in RCGroups. Sometimes those changes are good, sometimes not so good.
From information I’ve gathered reading a couple thousand posts in the various RC groups the IMAX went from an unreliable piece of junk [Upgrading your Imax B6 balance charger?], to a fairly decent (inexpensive) unit. Then the cheap price made it THE target for the fakes that have proliferated for a couple years, which is the reason for my posting. Posts like yours allow people to think that it’s irrelevant which one they buy, which unfortunately is just not true. I do admit it was a pretty irritating way to say it and not necessary. I apologize for that.
Realista, I really think you should have done a bit more due diligence before posting that it was genuine, typically with these sites the photos are often taken directly from the manufactures site and even then logos and stickers are probably the easiest part of the item to copy. Having said that, its all on me for not checking myself first. Since my intent was to replace my old but reliable fake B6 with a new Genuine B6 mini and hook it up to my phone and computer, I highly doubt I would be happy with a fake since I’m pretty sure SkyRC’s software will not work well with a fake. At any rate I asked GB’s CS and got an honest and quick response plus a full refund to Paypal, kudos BG CS. Live and learn.

Software/firmware are the ‘clone’ part. Most of these look very similar and use the same firmware. What is different is the internal components and quality of assembly. Even among the ‘fakes’ there can be considerable variation in functional quality. Some are OK, some have some quirky problems that may not matter to some people (like poor NiXX charging), and some are a disaster with poor charging and balancing of lithium chemistry.
That’s got some interesting discrepancies. Since it’s a ‘mini’ and I don’t know if there are others of this type I guess it could be sorta self developed. OTOH, it is most likely a ‘clone’ as it will probably use the same firmware and software, that’s what a clone is.
I seriously doubt they developed it, probably more like provided the specs for someone else to build. A fake is a charger that is trying to imitate a known identical (clone) product.
If it’s made well, it may be fine. I don’t know for sure either way on this charger. It would be good if someone with the equipment to wring it out checked one out.
Agreed, my fake B6 rocks Lipo’s and NiMH batteries but completely craps out on sealed Pb batteries. I have other chargers i can use to charge Pb so its no big deal, but right now I just don’t have the time to mess around with stuff that does not quite work properly.

sorry to hear it, but when i opened the GB, i opened it because it was told me to be a GENUINE product. (if i was not sure, why did i wrote it?)

Being sure and asking someone and being assured by them are not the same thing. The point of being sure was you know they are genuine, not someone trying to sell them said they are genuine. The latter is how all tricksters work.
A $3 light is every bit as good as any $30 light.
