XHP70 + Olight SR90 Intimidator?

Since i have not did any light mods yet using the XHP70 Emitter from Cree.
I have an Olight SR90 Intimidator that is completely stock with the Luminus SST90 emitter, even though its still a hell of a powerful thrower, its becoming dated and shadowed by newer “big” lights out there.
I am curious if anyone have tried the XHP70 emitter in one yet? or will the XHP70 run with the stock driver for the SST90 in the SR, and will it improve the output of the light, Lumens vs. throw distance.

I put a 96CRI 5000K XHP-70 in my Intimidator, along with the Illuminations Machines Lum 5-90 reflector. There’s pics somewhere in the XHP thread, I’ll find that tomorrow and repost here.

4600 lumens from the high cri emitter, 5200 lumens from the standard 5700K version. I had a second battery tube that had been gutted somewhere down the line, I fixed that to run a pair of Efest IMR26650’s and put a clicky lockout switch in the tail cap. Really love this light!

I had it doing 645Kcd before this, decided I didn’t need that kind of throw but could use a real solid light with a nice beam. (I’ve got all the components on standby to revert it if need be.)

Have fun!

was yours still running the stock driver with the XHP70? Im curious about the reflector, as i never had an XHP70 yet in my hands, and was curious would it still fit and work with the stock SR90 reflector.

That’s cool & looking forward to see your pics as I may do the same as well!

I just discovered that i have to buy “five” of the Illuminations Machines Lum 5-90 reflectors to get one…
Im assuming that you used that reflector to blend out an artifact in the beam with smooth original reflector due to the 4-die XHP design?

I think this is the pic Dale is talking about ? https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/32418

The stock driver for my light is modified to run the XM-L2 at 6.6A. I wanted to keep that emitter, driver, reflector combo ready to reinstall in case I wanted the big throw back.

So mine has a 17mm FET Zener modified running the XHP-70. I also drilled and tapped new holes for the 20mm star to bolt down. The Lum 5-90 is star shaped, I use the screws to secure both the star and the reflector.

I also didn’t want to have to modify the original reflector in any way as it’s a big honking chunk of aluminum and I wanted to avoid any possible issues with it as I figured A) Olight might be too proud of those to sell one and B) If they sold one they’d be so proud of it I’d stroke out on sticker shock.

The $5 Lum 5-90 with it’s excellent diamond grid pattern works wonders with the XHP-70, sheer genius, so it’s a no brainer.

Get the 5, sell me one and offer the others up on the forum. You won’t have extra’s long.

if u do buy 5 ill take another 1-2 ?

I am ordering 5, so i will keep you in mind if you want 1 or 2 of them.
