Looking for a "big brother" for my EE X6

Complete light, or host either one works. $40 budget for light/host

Basically looking for a “honey I blew up the kids” 26650 version of the X6.

Integrated shelf, deep smooth reflector, good heat-sinking, and sized for a 26650.
Maybe an extension tube, just in case I decide to go for a MT-G2.

Bonus points if its something RMM carries.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Jim

Supfire L3, well worth the price. Available from RMM. Reflector a little larger than a H2010.

Two questions about the L3.

What size driver and mcpcb?

What exactly keeps longer protected batteries from fitting ? Can it be modified (brass button on battery cap trimmed, or something) to fit them?

I guess thats more than 2 ??, oops.

Guess I should read the description on MTN.
Sorry.

When I was a kid there was no such thing as a protected battery. I won't use em. Although it is a very nice safety feature to have if you feel you need it.

+1 On the L3, I just got mine a few days ago.

Jaw dropping throw for the money. I would have paid two times as much as I did and still be thrilled to death about it.

Two things that would make the L3 better…

The factory needs to make a longer extension tube for use with two batteries.

Lose that damn Green Button!

Oh! - And RIchard needs to find the time to offer his Mods with it:-)

2 amps is kinda anemic.

Thanks,
-Chuck

Yep, the greeeen button

First thing I did when I saw the tiny driver components was to reach for the power button on my reflow machine.lol...sweeep..

Still though, even with that POS driver it throws like a mad man. I'm thinking I should have kept it, but the little parts are all over my garage floor now somewhere, probably stuck to my boots..lol

Mod a 3C Maglite.

Took that L3 and put the 5amp driver from MTN and an XHP-50 on a 20mm Notigon in it. Pulls 4amps at the tailcap, so I figure maybe 5-5.5amps to the emitter. Sucker is bright I’m thinking about over 3000 Lumens. Awesome.

Only problem is that darn dark center spot. I’ve exchanged my XHP-70 with a dedomed MTG-2… I’m curious to see throw figures on a highly modded L3 with dedomed XML U3/4.

Ordered myself a L3, based on comments above.

So that driver fits well even though its 21mm or did it need a shim of some sort?

The listing says 22mm Driver Diameter.

I took one of MTN’s 22mm single sided driver boards and replaced the contact board on the 5amp driver with it. It was a little over a buck.
