does this exist?

im looking for a light that matches these specs:

  • flood to zoom
  • infinite adjust. hidden strobe would be a plus but not needed
  • single cell. cr123a or 14500
  • pocket clip
  • memory
  • easily replaceable lens. glass lens a plus

ive looked and it seems there are no flood to zoom, infinite adjust lights

This is pretty close: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/edi-t-t11-cree-q3-wc-3-mode-160-lumen-convex-lens-led-flashlight-black-1-123a-1-16340-50680

Flood to throw, CR123a, user programmable modes with a hidden strobe. Plastic lens and no pocket clip, though.

thanks, thats pretty damn close. ive looked at that light and missed the program mode, its hidden in the comments lol

do you know the lens size?

According to the description the head is 25.5 mm. Lens should be 22-23 mm. One user says there is no off function. I don't know if that is true or just an issue with his light since no one else mentions this.

There is an off function. That user kept trying to soft-click cycle through modes instead of, you know, clicking the light off.

This light definitely has an off mode. The person claiming otherwise probably has a defective light.

This light is nice (solid body/threads, zoomable, tailstands, fits protected cells, programmable, etc.). For a budget light it is surprisingly well-built, with smooth zooming. The beam is a little ringy, but not too bad.

That said, I rarely use it myself, since I can get better performance (higher high, lower low) from a much smaller (but 4X more expensive) 4Sevens MiniX 1xCR123A light. The MiniX is really a different breed though, since it doesn't fit protected cells and has no zoom or programming. I found I get plenty of throw and spill from the MiniX on Med/High with a RCR123A (not officially sanctioned), and I like the MiniX mode spacing and hidden flashing modes, so I never need the zooming or programming features.

If you want to see the exploded view of the Edi-T T11, I did a mod post awhile back on one. I believe it's stickied in the flashlight mods subforum.

All in all, a decent zoomie in stock form...and most likely the closest you'll come to what you need (without modding).

Yezl had a 5 mode at one point also with the hidden modes as well. One of my favorite zoomy lights next to the Edi-T P4.
