Why the heck have UF never released an XM-L version of this. It looks perfect for an XM-L and the tailcap on/off plus a separate mode ring looks super sweet too.

Similar to UltraFire UF-980L.

Nothing like it. Go check that 850L out again. The 850 has a much larger/wider reflector (56mm head) and a twist mode switch. Its a beauty but very rare it seems and only available in MCE. UF are really missing a trick not bringing an XM-L version to market.

Yeah, I know. That emitter is much bigger than XML, so you need a bigger reflector as well. The body is similar to that model I mentioned before, except for that ring, a nice add IMO :p Cheap, btw.

That is one sweet looking light! I don’t have an MCE yet. I just got my first P7 so this might be a good move.

Well the Ultra fire site sells the MCU-C88 for $45 so maybe we will see the 850 for mid thirties at MF or similar.

With the XM-L costing less than the MCE, the price may come down further (and have a better emitter).

Either way, it is nice to see some budget (ish) lights come out with this style of mode selection.

With an MCE and a P7 version having been produced it is even more surprising that an XM-L version has not.
