Head Light for biking $50.00 and less. Thinking of one head with 7 or 8 LEDs.

Depends on the head is the issue. More emitters isn’t always better. Well should say depends on heat management of head and the driver. Those massive 7 emitter heads aren’t really any better than a 2 or 4 emitter head because of the power requirements and heat issues.

Ya I sound like a salesman here and I apologize, definitely Not, but when it comes to bang for buck, having a top quality battery pack and the $50 range, you CANNOT beat a nitefighter bt40. I have several lights and put each one through hell for testing as well as the battery packs, nitefighter bt40 and bt21 can’t be beat for the price. Bt40 is the perfect bar light.

That said, you don’t need as much light as you think, especially if you steer clear of cool white. Though it appears brighter, neutral white you can see more, feels more natural and more like halogen lights. Think car headlights.

I assume your riding trails if you looking at more light (crazy bright on road riding is dangerous for everyone.
