I had a SKILHUNT H02 (bought mainly because of a good deal and for hiking purposes), which I borrowed to a mechanic. It was found out to be a really handy for that kind of work, unfortunately it broke down by accident. Anyway, now I would be looking for a light that would go under my country tax limitations (about 23usd). That way I could order many of them individually.
Requirements:
-Decent quality (waterproof)
-preferably 18650
-Neutral/warm tint (need to be able to see colors)
-around 500+ lumens (shillhunt was used mainly with 380lumen mode)
-Not the heaviest, but doesn’t have to be lightest
-Nicely spreading soft light
At the moment Jetbeam HC20 in annoyingly over my my price limit (29,90:money_mouth_face:. On the other hand, it is even a little bit over quality. Haven’t found other potential candidates, any ideas?
You could give this Yupard a try. It looks pretty similar to the Crelant CH10 and the reviews on Ali are good. Don’t know if someone here has one. Led colour is a crapshot like allways with cheapos. But its only 13$, worth a try I guess.
So do lenses. maybe a little bit less but not much. If you can get the “opal” one not the frosted or milky it has small bubbles and diffuses more effectively. But the shops seem to be all over the place with names.
If you get it, take the head apart and take the reflectors dimensions. There might be a lens for sale at KD or somewhere that fits.
Hey, we’ve been using yupards for a few years now. those are good and pretty reliable, but still they have a few problems: size, beam angle, tint. I have changed some lenses to get wider beam, but it is not helping much. Anyway, it’s a great light and before ordering new ones, I was wondering have there been some new lights that would fit to this kind of work better?
