GeekBuying.com the worst china seller I've ever used

I ordered a $60 dollar item from Geekbuying.com. The only reason I decided to buy from them was because their web site said US customers could return goods to California warehouse. The item was DOA. When I tried to send it back to the California warehouse I was flat out denied and told to send it to China. Shipping to China is $90!

“For US customers, we provide local return service for DOA cases (dead on arrival) if customers pay the US return service (2.99 USD, which can be found in last step of payment) as we have warehouse in California.”

Now PayPal has told me to send it back to China and they will refund my money. Spend $90 to get $60 back. Ya, right. PayPal can kiss my ass too. I paid for the meter with a PayPal balance. From now on things get paid with a credit card that I know won’t be pandering to China sellers.

Wow. Sorry to hear. I'd dispute it with PP as long and as hard as you can. Or, cut your losses and have whatever it was (assuming it was a light) modded and try to make this mess not so bad.

Let me get this right...they printed on their sight the following:

"For US customers, we provide local return service for DOAcases (dead on arrival) if customers pay the US return service (2.99 USD, which can be found in last step of payment) as we have warehouse in California.”"

and they pulled that kind of crap?

Guess who's on my $hit-list?

PS: I sincerely hope you get satisfaction one way or the other.

PayPal ruled I have to send the meter back to China instead of the California warehouse and they will give me a refund. Of course shipping is more than the meter is worth. PayPal even listed the China address I have to send it back to. Somebody blew it on this one. I can’t even reply to their ruling. The only two options are submit a tracking number proving I sent the meter back or cancel my dispute. If I hadn’t paid for it with a Paypal balance I’d go through the credit card company. The way it is I’m stuck. The item I purchased is a clamp on meter. If it was a light I could at least fix it. Thanks for letting me vent.

What type of meter did you buy? Shipping shouldn’t be that much if you don’t use priority. Might cost $15-20

Just a clamp on electric meter. A flat rate box from USPS WAS $90. I just checked USPS again and the padded envelop was 45$. It has to have a tracking number for me to get a refund. Is there a better way to send it?

How are you communicating with pay pal, email ?

I had a very similar issue to your’s and i wasn’t getting anywhere with the seller or with pay pal, so I telephoned paypal directly and explained the situation, and that I didn’t see why I should have to pay to ship the damaged item to another country at my own expense.
Anyway the very helpfull American lady at pay pal to whom I was speaking said she needed to put me on hold whilst she sort advice on what to do to resolve the issue.
Anyway when she came back on the phone a few minutes later, she said pay pal were going to email me a pre paid shipping label (paypal charge it to the seller) and as long as I sent the item back within 7 days, as soon as the tracking number showed it as being with the courier I’d get a full refund.
Which I did

Was quite surprised just how helpful pay pal were,as my previous experience with them was that they couldn’t give a sh*t.
Maybe a one off or maybe they have become a bit more customer focused, who knows, but if you have only used email to contact paypal thus far, then it might be worth telephoning them and seeing if you can resolve it that way.

Regards

Yeh,, paypal needs to hear how you're getting screwed over. Hope it makes a difference. If they still over rule, well, they can kiss all our arses.

I think you are on to somthing.

  1. you have there terms in writing
  2. Paypal folks are sharper and can think compaired to eBay drones.
  3. Yes as the seller and Paypal do not seem have a way to return it to the specified US address ASK FOR THE PREPAID LABEL!!!
  4. If neccessary let Paypal know that this thread has been started and both compaines interactions will be updated (do they want to be co minguled with no name fly by night CN Co?)

your fighten for all man, Hold that line!!!

I ordered on thing from geekbuying recently and it took forever to ship. Got hear not long after, but getting shipped out took 2 weeks.
