Hi HKJ,

Will you please consider reviewing this PSU Doctor?

Interesting device, I have ordered one and hope it works with my phone.
The specifications looks a bit dubious, why 11 ADC channels, I would expect 6 (3xVolt, 3xCurrent) or do they just list MCU specification, including all unused ADC channels. The ADC specification is not the only dubious specification, I am very curious what I can use the DC current consumption specification for (These silly specifications do not make it a bad device in any way).

That is a cool usb charger. I hope it also has Wh logging, can’t see that in the phone screenshots.

So xiaomi in my country begin asking customers to reture xiaomi powerbank 10000mah(the one has low price and Quick charge), for checking
So, it must be something wrong with it
Many people reported it fried their IC charge manager in their non-quick charge phones

Can you point to a place where they are announcing the recall?

I must admit I do not really like how all this “charging” protocols stuff is going. Again, a crapload of independently developed charging power management intellectual property to continue filing patents and make people believe in whatever respective sort of cooked bunch of lies, selling the same dog with a flashier collar again. Nearly don't give a sh1te.

Where can I buy an Android device with a slot or two for 18650s?

Cheers fellows Party

I guess that everyone would use USB IF PD specifications, things would be too much simpler....

yeah, i just did before posting.  Just read a couple of their PDF, everything is well specified IMHO, also cable losses, and parasitic losses, from what i understand

Everything may be well specified, but that do not make it less complicated. Here I am talking about the new PD specification for USB-C where you need a microprocessor in the cable and in both ends of the connection for the high power settings. This specification could also be used for the old cables in one revision of the standard and there it was even worse.
Something like QuickCharge is much simpler.

All this complexity is not a huge problem when used with a smartphone, tablet or other computer, but for chargers, power banks and all the simple toys it can be a problem.

was about to asking you to elaborate, but now i get your point... but i gues at some point we have to agree on a standard, also the more it gets diffused, the more it will be the common...and ...eventually it will become the normality... anyway i got your point

I’ve been using Technoline power meters until now and they have been independently verified as accurate, but this has more features.

There is two reason I cannot review that:
1) Amazon will not sell it to me, because I am in EU and not is US
2) If they could sell it the shipping cost would probably be way to high.

EDIT: Here is one with the proper plug:

German is the closest Amazon store to me, but shipping is the same as the adapter. For know I have put it in my basket and it will have to wait until I need some more stuff from Amazon.

Any chance of testing this very cheap (costs like $11) and versatile powerbank Aili 119 (6×18650 not included): http://www.ebay.com/itm/20V-Mobile-Power-Bank-UPS-6-18650-Battery-Charger-For-Laptop-Iphone-Universal-/321866773183

Beside usb output it has options to adjust output voltage from 3,3V to 21V (up to 3,3A) so that it can also be used to charge laptops. I bought this one after I read a review where the writer claimed very high efficiency when charging laptop and average when using usb output . If this test is out of the question for you, can you please take a look at the methodology of this russian test and if its even theoreticly possible that boost from 9-12V to 20V is realized with such a high efficiency (97% ?). Thank you!

I do have a couple of power banks in queue, I may even drop some of them because they are getting a bit old.
I have bought one of these and hope I get it tested.

Sorry, I cannot do better, but I usual buy a bit more than I have time to test/review. Blushing

I have ordered the above two devices.
The usb supply will be reviewed, but at that price the most likely outcome is a couple of skulls . I hope the result will be better, but I doubt it.
I hope to get enough time to test the tester, it looks interesting.

Linking is hopeless, either I do raw html or I get errors or I answer my own posts, It looks like the above link works.

The problem is special characters like space, it is sometimes %20 and sometimes just a space, when doing links this often ends up in a non working result.

When doing raw html (Like in my reviews) there is no problem, but the editor tries to be smart and this do not work well together with me Big Smile
