Solarforce Skyline I

Just got this quality light in today. It's by far the best quality light that I have. I give it a 10 for machining, looks and feel. It's a lot heavier than I thought it would be. It weighs in at 11oz with a battery on my digital scale. And it throws the tightest beam out of all the lights I have too. So far I am really impressed.

I really like the long deep reflector and how the reflector completeley surrounds the bulb casing. The head on this light is very hefty.

Here's a beamshot. I hope I have my camera on a decent setting for this. This is about as lifelike to size of the beam as I could make it w/o making it appear brighter than what it is. But it wasn't this dark at all in the hallway. But I'll leave it for the experts in photography to critique.

can you pls compare beamshot from this skyline and other lights you got?from what i read you have almost all budgetlight trowers i want to get:) Now can you pls post some photos comparing those lights you got on same target but diferent distance.it would be great to see how lights from ebay (UltraOK Technology Cree Q5 ,KEYGOS CREE XM-LT6 or this one https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/3488) performes against thrower from solarforce.

thx

this is a great light - the tailcap switch has a great function set.

i am still looking to get a Xml in there myself , dreading the driver switch. both are documented a bit.

i wish i could find an extender tube for this use 2 18650's

have you used yours with cr123s ???

Use 18650s in my Skyline 1. Am wanting to change drivers to a 1400ma AMC7135 to get the most from the lower voltage 18650s. Have read that the Skyline 1 excels with the cr123s in stock configuration. I feel that pushing with a little over driving will help as there seem to be plenty of aluminum for heat sinking.

I have been eye balling this for about a week... I'm on the checkout page, trying to resist pressing submit the whole time. i know for $31.99 i can probably get a brighter light or one with more throw, but how about quality?

Here's some nite shots.

slino,

Here's the Keygos KE-5 on the same setting from the pictures above. Now the one on the pool is a little low. But you should get the idea. Now to me these are just about the same in the image as in what my eye is seeing.

i have to say the quality is very good. As is using only a single 18650, the light is not as bright as a thrower as most lights that are optimized for a single 3.7V battery. and disadvantaged by being limited to 6V max.

on the plus side the light adjustable ,even though its very fast and quality is a cut above, if not a couple, most low end lights. feels solid and has a good coating. has a good grip way better IMO that regular knurling. quality wise i would rate it 9 of 10. performance 4 and value around a 7 . i would get it again

also this light is so focused its dangerous but makes a great tactical , to bad it doesnt have mounts. it could be used to aim short range

Second point anyone ever try over 6Vs , i wonder if it would blow the tailcap , driver, led or a combo of

I am wanting a more versatile light. It does throw well but have an aspherical wf501b am am more happy with for hunting. Have to say the service from Solarforce has been good as my light was received with the dome fallen off the emitter and they shipped me a new module. I modded the old module with a green XRE but it needs more balls with an improved driver for 18650s. As far as changing the driver it is not mod friendly. Have a Fandyfire STL-V6 single XML on order from DX for $46. From what I've read it directly compares with the Sun Ray STL-V2 and the Olight M31(?). I am going to scrub the name as Fandy is unacceptable.
