My current SK-68’s beams have a halo, just wondering if there are any techniques to dull down or stop the refracted light/rings appearing when the torch is switched on, in zoom and flood.
are you talking in flood or throw mode ?
on zoomies the metal///reflective stuff in the head is what makes these rings ..try blacking out everything that has any shine to it .
i've seen reflections show up in the beam from the solder blobs on the neg and pos of the star ..Some high temp black paint like you'd use on a engine would work . a sharpie is better than nothing . some people are afraid of losing lumens but i'd rather have a nicer beam and lose a few lumens
It’s probably a reflection from something shiny the light from the LED hits on the way to the wall … black it out?
I’m sorry for offending you.
I’ll go…
