Small Sun ZY-T43 Review

Hi everyone, this is my first BLF review (video). First I would like to thank Karen and Gearbest for providing this light for review. I hope I have covered everything and made a decent review, as I know there are some of you that make excellent reviews on here. There are a few things I didn’t cover in the video, so let me get to those now. First if you are planning on modding, this is not a light to mod, as it does have threads, but is glued together really well and has the side charger and side switch. Second I show the charging port and charger in video but, you can take out batteries as it also has a tailcap and 18650’s that can be charged on a regular charger. The batteries are not top quality but not as bad as a few of them out there (3 out of 4 of them, 1 was a bad cell) Small Sun brand 2400mah. There are also images showing battery orientation inside tube. The last thing is that the slight “ringy” beam in close up of stills does not show in normal use, only when wall hunting.

Nice! Excellent first video review…thanks for posting!

No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.

Thanks for the review. I was pleased that I watched it as it gives a good understanding of the performance of the torch outdoros after a review of the internals. The plastic reflector is a bit of a dissapointment as otherwise it looks a good buy.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was glad to do the review and I am hoping to have the opportunity to do more in the future. I will try to get better with each one as I am still a newbie at videos and flashlight both for the most part

How about a picture of the actual flashlight?

There are several pics of the light in the video, 1 of flashlight in the box, one of it taken apart, one of the head and switch, one of the body, one of the light beside the accessories, and one of the charging port that I can think of.

Thanks for the review.
How does the ui work?
It sounds like I have to press a full click each time to change modes? And have to cycle through all modes to turn off.
So it’s not half presses right?

And silly question, does the light run the cells in parellel or series?

The cells are in parallel.

To be honest I didn’t even try half press but I am almost certain with the side switch it is full click to change modes.

Light can be turned off in any mode though.

Hi/Lo/Strobe is the order of the UI.

And my brother has the light right now so it will probably be 7 to 10 days before I can tell you about half press to change modes for sure.

Just called him…NO half presses and yes you do have to cycle through.

hmm, if the light can be turned off in any mode, then it seems like it would be half presses to change modes.
otherwise, if it was a full click to change modes, then how will the light turn off with a full click?
unless you have to hold the switch to turn off? is this an electronic switch?
but in your video, it looks and sounds as if you were cycling through all modes with a full click and then it turned off after strobe mode.

this is the only thing holding me off from buying one or two of these lights right now.
i dont want to have to hold the switch down to turn on/off light.

to turn off light is a simple press right, no holding down for half a second or anything like that?
