Looking for high quality "tube" 26650 light

This light will be for my camping trips. It will be vehicle-based camping, so weight isn’t an issue… UI, tint, etc do not matter because it will be modded.

These are my criteria in order of importance:

  • durable and waterproof
  • have a traditional switch or dual switch
  • tailstands (and preferably anti-roll)
  • Compact, I don’t want a huge head on it
  • single emitter
  • under $30
  • fit a 26700 cell

I love the build of my Convoy X3, but it is a little to big. I am looking closely at the Nitefighter F41C, but it may also be too big. My Supfire L5 would be perfect, but it is e-switch only and you can’t lock out the tail.

thanks for your suggestions

My TrustFire A8 from Tomtop (e.g.: http://www.ebay.de/itm/TrustFire-A8-CREE-XML-XM-L-T6-LED-Taschenlampe-Licht-2000Lm-Fackel-Lampe-26650-/161515726840?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_77&hash=item259b1667f8) has a decent built quality. I’ve switched the emitter and the driver for more output though.
But I’m not sure how many of your criteria it will match…

I like how the lucky sun looks tho

Hmm I really like the design of the Roxane M6, and the price is pretty great too. If the ano is good it might be perfect.

I found the lucky sun at gearbest too! It’s cheaper there lol.
http://m.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_44174.html it’s a L5.

And this one is really cheap

And the ultrafire f13 seems not too bad

That LuckySun XXX990 is crap.
The beam looks awful!
I was so full of pleasant anticipation while I opened the package. It looks beautiful - but as I said, the beam is the worst of my ~70 lights I own.

I like this light: http://www.lightmalls.com/ultrafire-ipx7-cree-xm-l-u2-1300-lumens-5-mode-waterproof-led-flashlight-torch-1x18650-1x26650
It has a pretty clear (not so small) hotspot - the A8 (search for “LZZ-F15”)has a lot of spill and a smaller HotSpot.

I have an F13, and the quality isn’t good enough. I’m afraid the LZZ-F15 doesn’t look that great in pictures.

This might come close PAISEN Z6

Don’t know if these are any good but I would trust cnq with not so shitty products

After looking at this review of the Roxane M6, I don’t like the way the inside is constructed.

I had seen those at CNQ, but they’re all missing something from my needs

Suggestion - Send your L5 to N10sivern for cerkote and get him to spray the tail threads so you can lock out.

You can’t go wrong with the Warsun X60. Think of it as a CT9T that can take a 26650. Maybe you can find a coupon.

for the Solarstorm/fandyfire K2 .

  • Durable and waterproof, yep, got an F13 and it feels tacky in comparison and never gets used.Nice anno and nice feel.
  • Single E switch.I had to unglue the tailcap by immersion in boiling water,no problem for me,but others had difficulties. You then have 2 lockout options,tail/body or body/head.

here is Racer 86’s thread on fitting a Dr Jones driver, but the standard driver has low voltage warning(switch goes green to red)and blinkies are hidden.

  • Tailstands perfect(no switch  )anti roll;meh, just a shallow side switch, but sort of anti roll, after 3 or 4 revolutions it should stop
  • Compact; It’s the S2 of 26650’s,129x41mm,throws and spills like a C8.This was the pack light I took on a motor bike trip to UK last year(V11R was the EDC pocket light)no regrets for the K2,but the V11R lacked autonomy.
  • Single emitter;XML U2,change it!But a nice deep , smooth reflector.
  • Under $30;nearly $27,surprisingly dear for an XML torch.
  • 26700 cell;I’ve only got unprotected BT 26650’s,but they have 8-10mm play(compression)on the tail spring,should be OK J)

If not,I’d try a Warsun

How much current on max with the original driver?
THis looks very interesting!

Just tailcap bypass measurements with 18 Ga wire on DMM:L-210mA , M-920mA,H-2.20A.I’m planning on a Ledforpower driver swap.
