Thorfire C8 Review (video)

—I am reviewing the Thorfire C8 provided by “Thorfire” in return for the review. A thanks to Zac also.

First let me get the tailcap readings out of the way as I didn’t mention them in the video. Readings were taken with a fully charged Panasonic NCR18650PF Protected 2900mAh.

High/2.78—-Medium/1.07—-Low/0.12

The light tail stands solid without the lanyard attached and soso when it is attached.
When lanyard is attached through the 2 holes in side of tailcap , it does not interfere. (was attached through only 1 when I got the light)
Has last mode memory also.
It should make a great candidate should anyone want to mod this light.
I think I covered everything else in the video.
Link to site here: http://www.amazon.com/ThorFire-Flashlight-Cycling-Camping-Hunting/dp/B00... Video and then listed specifications below video.

1.Uses Cree XM-L2 LED with a lifespan of 100,000 hours. 2.Uses one 18650 3.7v battery (Not Included). 3.Size: approx 143mm (Length) * 25.4mm(Body Diameter) * 44.5mm(Head Diameter). 4.145-gram weight (Excluding the battery). 5.Tail tap switch for on/off and output selection. 6.Made of Aircraft-grade Aluminum. 7.High-efficiency reflection lens. 8.Max 900 Lumens output.

Operation ON/OFF Press the tail switch to turn on the light. Another complete press on the switch turns it off. Output Selection When the light is on, tap the tail switch to cycle the brightness level in the order of Low-Mid-High or Low-Mid-High-Strobe-SOS. The C8 flashlight can has 3 modes and 5 modes: As soon as C8 blinks after stays on Low mode for 5s, turn it off and back on again, it will change from 3 modes to 5 modes or from 5 modes to 3 modes.

Intelligent Memory Circuit If a brightness level is used for more than 2 seconds, the light remembers it, when the light is turned off and then on again, it starts from the remembered brightness level.

Battery You need to purchase battery separately. Please select high quality 18650 batteries for safety concern.

Good video, those bugs are LOUD in the background…

I have one of these and have been very happy with it. In fact, the missus has commandeered the thing when we go camping and is pretty fast with it when she hears something she wants to investigate. Banggood also has one that has FOUR modes only (Moon, Low, Med, High) and I have been tempted to get one to check out myself.

I have been impressed with ThorFire’s quality on the lights I have gotten, they are doing things well it seems for the budget lights.

Thanks again for the video!

Hey, nice review. Smile
The finish on that ThorFire C8 looks good. The square cut threads look awesome. That is a quality light like a Convoy.

Very nice review, thanks for posting. The torch seems very similar to the Convoy C8 as you mention. The quality appears to be a high standard which is great to see as there are many bad examples of C8s. The plastic lens is a minor disappointment but otherwise looks an excellent unit.

Yes as mentioned in the video , it is pretty much identical to the convoy C8.
I would say if you took the 2 and handed them to someone without the brand on them they would say it was a pair of identical lights.

Thank you for the review! It looks like a great light and it is a great solution to those people that are having a hard time finding the older Convoy C8 with removable pill. The Convoy C8 just recently moved to a integrated pill design.
