Which Nitecore font is used on your NEW 2015 model light? ("www.nitecore.com")

...And now for the least interesting news of the day:

The font used by Nitecore for the web address URL etched onto their lights has changed.

"www.nitecore.com" etched into the body.

I have a number of MH20 flashlights. All the older ones (early serials 504* circa May) use a classic square-edged font.

Basically this is the same font used in the "NITECORE" main logo. This seems to appear on all literature, photos and older models including all my other EA11/EC11 lights.

Whereas the newer MH20 flashlights (serials 506* circa June) are now using a different more standard type-face, with a rounded style font.

There is also slight variance in the colour and clarity, with the newer being somewhat whiter and clearer.

Its a little piece of useless detail that is in no way of any particular relevance (or undoubtedly, interest!).

But I was intrigued to know if this is a change made intentionally on all their newer model lights, or just a mistake.

Please vote ONLY for these 2015 models:

  • Ex11 series

Please also feel free to post below with your findings after examining your own Nitecore lights.

Include details of the model and approximate age/purchase date if possible, and first four digits of the serial number for comparison.

These details can’t be captured in the voting system.

MH20 from Gearbest. It never showed on my GB account but Paypal says I paid on the 25th of May.It has the squared off font.
No serial number on the light that I can find, but on the box,the printed barcode starts 6 952506.There’s a 9 digit barcode sticker on the front, but that is probably a GB thing.

Thanks buddy. Yeah my first few were also from GB around May time and have the squared font used for the Web address etching (as per top light in photos).

The serial number is unique and usually appears etched in tiny numbers on the Bezel of the light. The barcode you mention looks like the pricing code, whereas the serial number matches up with a small silver/metallic label usually on the bottom of the box.

Thanks for replying, and enjoy your MH20 I think it’s a great little light.

Hirsh

It was hiding from me!5051 and it matches the number on the bottom of the box(which I had not seen before)so in between the 504 and 506.

My suspicion is:

5 [0519] 8664 [0451]

First bracket is [mm/dd] second bracket is [unit no.]
The first number 5 could be the year, the 8664 are identical on all MH20’s, i suspect its the model no.

Driver design changed a little around April (504) and May (505).

Also, my Nitecore font is edged.
