Here at BLF, we are a Prickly Bunch, we complain about everything.
After having done my Top Ten Complaints of a BLF member after buying the Moon

In honor of the Full Moon tonight, I will be bumping that thread again in a minute.

For now, I thought we need one about Firefly’s or Lightning Bugs if you prefer.

Here are my top complaints right off the cuff ;

1. Dang thing is stuck in slow strobe mode.
2. Ordered it in Sept., and it took until May of the next year to arrive.
3. Tint is too yellow.
4. Run time sucks
5. Won’t fit a .0010440 protected cell
6. Has horrible PWM

And lastly, There is no maker’s mark, I think they sent me a Clone!

no pocket clip

tried to tie a lanyard on it , uh , nope

mine stopped working , I gave it some percussive maintenance and it did not help

Mine kept getting lost.

Fits in pocket well but comes out squished. Upside, pocket and hand now glows. :smiley: Downside, squishy guts…

It’s never where I recall putting it. :~

I’ve tried changing the emitter to get a better tint.
Something always goes wrong during reflow…

If I mix enough of these in my dogs food, I can pick up his poo at night… but I have to blink a light to get the poo to blink back and that changes the modes on my cheap light… its the fireflies fault I hate next mode memory…

Damn thing set the wifes bush on fire. Well not my complaint but the wife did scream loudly. Apparently it was a rare variety of bush climate change had made grow out of control.

Whenever I hold it the pocket clips walk it to the highest point in my hand.

Blinks off when I need it the most.

Tickles my hand when I hold it.

When used, it attracts horny female fireflies.

Even after dedoming them the tint it still ugly.

It’s only nice to look at when you cant see the actual firefly, just it’s light. Otherwise it’s ugly as hell.

Always seem to be moving on me, can never find it in the same place twice.

On the other hand, where there’s one, more seem to appear over the course of a few days!

They cancelled too soon! There are still questions that need to be answered! Even after the film. :_(

^ re-watching the entire series on Netflix for the third time. Dang good show with excellent writing, acting, sets and effects. Is a shame.

Yeah… I’d describe it as a western that takes place in the future with technology, spaceships and lots of social commentary and excellent dialog dealing with serious issues while injecting comedy in places where it is needed.

And at that point, I am sure I will have no one’s attention any longer. lol

I tried to do a spring bypass on my firefly to stop it jumping around, but it vaporised as soon as I touched it with my soldering iron.
