More Fake Convoys from Gearbest.

I just received a convoy c8 from Gearbest and it looks like its fake. Now as of yet I am yet to hold a good c8 as the first one from Dinodirect looked like it was made from papier mache, it was real bad.

Anyway Gearbest had an offer for the new convoy c8 4c, so I picked one up.

What I got looks nothing like the pictures. First of all it looks like an Ultrafire c8, shiny crap ano not the matt black in the pictures, you can see the machine marks underneath.

It was supposed to be a 4c but is very cool white, it does say 4c on the box so they were half way there.

The driver is a 105c, now I don’t know if this is the driver they advertise but it is only managing 2.4a at the tail. Now part of the reason for this is probably down to the extremely crap spring on the driver. I have never seen anything like it, looks like it came out of a pen.

So has anyone else received one of these fine specimens?

The thin, crap driver spring was also found on the fake red convoy S2+.

I’ve not bought any C8’s from Gearbest before. I’ve got one of the first designs with pill for the LED. It wuld help if you posted photos of the torch. Is it the new model pill less design?

My first flashlight had the 8x7135 driver and would only put out 2.45A, turns out the board had been forced in so strongly it cracked one of the traces meaning one chip was not allowing current through it. You could also have a defective chip, or a missing one, or your multimeter (wires) or battery may not be operating at peak efficiency

I will try and post some pics late but I don’t have a photo bucket account and I think I need one.

Two things I forgot to mention. First this has a screw in pill. And second the wall of the battery tube has been machined in such a way that it is noticeably thinner on one side. Very poor quality.

That is exactly what I was about to ask too.

Beside that Gearbest do accept Paypal (not that Alipay isn’t safe), I don’t know what kind of benefit one can get by not buying from Simon directly.

I would not have bought a c8 from simon as I am not particularly keen on the c8. It was on offer that’s all so I picked it up.

It’s not the point anyway, the point is it came from Gearbest and is not what it should be.

If i were you, i would file a paypal claim, because it is not the product you ordered.
This is the only way to teach “them”, we won’t let us trick that easy!

My sample has the weak spring , cool tint , and worst of all , the clicky is recessed too far . I can't use my thumb to actuate it .

If the idea is to keep buying stuff that’s probably bad for the fun of complaining about it, well, good for you, somebody ought to be patrolling to control China and it sure ain’t me ….

Can you do anything about their national boundaries problem? Seems Chinese kilometers have the same issue as Chinese lumens, they’re bigger than anybody else’s ….
