Need info on SF L2i and XML drop-in.

My aunt has asked me to get her a high quality light without the hassles of Li-Ion cells, So the SF L2i is the first to pop into my mind.

Sadly SF-USA doesn't carry L2i bodies or L2i/XML combo's, So im gonna have to go threw SF-China.

My question is that ive not bought an XML 4.2v drop-in from SF and im not sure if they hit 2.8A - 3A's like the MF drop-ins do? Also this is going to be run on 3x AAA at 4.5v, Will this drop in handle that? How about Lithium primaries? At 1.7V i dont think they would be the best bet. This is the link to the 3.7V drop-in.

Here is the 3v-6v 5mode XML, Should i use this with the L2i instead of the one above?

If time wasn't an issue id just order a drop-in from MF, But i don't want to have her wait any more than needed as its my money being tied up until i give her the light.

If none of these from SF will run at 2.8A-3A ill order the parts from illuminationsupply.com as i have the pills and reflectors.

XML on AAA's, lol.

I run this Solarforce XR-E dropin in my L2i. That way I can use a 18650 or the 3xAAA holder.

Dealextreme.com sell some lower current XM-L drop ins ...

There is also a very nice ramping drop in @ DX [ XR-E ]

Or you could DIY one ...

Thats a good point, Ill have to rethink what ill get her.
