[09-AUG-2015] Added EU Cookie Policy compliance boilerplate stuff

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the obnoxious “This site use cookies” popup that I just added. It’s unfortunately required by the European Union, which means that Google also requires it, and since we use Google’s services on this site for the banner ads and Google search we also have to comply.

I also updated BLF Rule #7 to include some boilerplate text about our use of cookies.

Nothing has changed in the way BLF uses cookies since our inception, it’s just an annoying compliance procedure.

Thanks for reading! Have fun… with cookies!

I don’t see an option to dismiss it tho. And it’s not going away on it’s own for me.

I see from your picture that you have “set” the cookies out. But really, how can I get them?

Yep, that’s the requirement. If the user doesn’t agree to use cookies he can’t use the site.
OK, I guess I can use the option to agree by clicking on any link. Apparently that’s a valid way of complying.

I will only accept if the EU passes a law saying you have to send us those cookies pictured

+1

+100. I LOVE Chocolate Chip.

What on earth are you doing here talking about Chocolate Chips? Get back out in your shed and start making some metal chips.

I expect the EU to pay for said cookies. And they better be fresh and tasty. :expressionless: I can just see them sending flour and water “cookies”.

They say alchemists could turn straw into gold, i expect Justin is planning to convert aluminum chips into chocolate chips (rather indirectly)

For health reasons I can not eat cookies, which are prohibited for me. I am celiac. Sorry.

That's no reason not to eat cookies. There are lots of gluten-free "flours" available ( I use a Robin Hood brand...). The only problem, (after you get the proportions right - because it won't be exactly the same as regular flour) - is the fact that they are typically too crumbly. No issue - use a teaspoon or two of xanthan gum in your mix.

After some trial and error - you'll be making non-gluten chocolate chip cookies that taste just like "regular" ones.
