Does it comply with EU health and safety requirements? CE mark? Who is the manufacturer?
Teardown of internals to show safe design?

You can skype tinaonumall for more information, thank you!

Just post here.
You should have basic safety information before posting an AC powered device here on BLF.

Shipping Cost:$13.17 :frowning:

for product that costs less than 3$! you can guess.
Do you know how much issuing a CE mark costs or other safety certificates issued by relevant European institute!!!
We are talking about thousands and thousands euros…
If you want you can buy almost identical light with all those certificates, it costs about 27€

Yes, I’m sure it is not even a remotely safe design. I’d say nearly 100% of direct-from-china no-brand AC devices are fire hazards with zero regard for safety or life. The question was just to bring attention.

What I’ve read says CE is can be a self-certification mark. It does not mean the item has been inspected by any 3rd party. So the CE mark actually mean little to nothing imho.

The EU really needs a mark that specifically means the design has be tested for safety by an independent party. Like the usa UL. Then put serious fines behind it, requiring resellers to verify marks and acquire products from manufacturer authorized distribution channels.

You are wrong about this.
Company where I work requested CE mark several months back so we could export our products to EU market, we had to send our products for rigorous testing to Poland where the company that issued the CE certificate to us is and we paid about 1300€ for only one product and it was a kids puzzle game not some potentially dangerous electronic product…

Some products can indeed be self certified. Perhaps children’s toys all are considered potentially dangerous by default. The world has seen some truly moronic toys that manufacturers thought were just fine and dandy. Lawn darts?

The problem is after paying 1300€ your company’s product just bares the same CE mark that self certified products have. Consumers have no way of knowing that it has actually been tested (for safety, I presume) and certified by an independent company. The weight of a CE mark is greatly harmed by allowing self certified products to use the same mark imho.

~ edit ~ I see I wrote “CE is a self-certification mark” in my other post. I was thinking can be but wrote is. :ghost:

Well, I am not into that department and also not to spread off topic further, all I can say is that CE mark is worthless if you don’t have right documents issued by approved organisation to show to customs officers when you are exporting/importing the goods, they won’t just believe you on a word or smile.

Energy saving bulbs are probably the best buy at present. I have 30W bulbs that output the equivalent to a 150W incandescent bulb. They are in effect flourescent bulbs.
