Would be interesting to have a BLF special 1-AA/2-AA light. We have had most other formats so far that i know of but a 1~2 AA small light.

I’d definitely be interested in a BLF AA light. It’s a great format for a backup or a gift.

I keep a couple of spare JETBeam JET-I MKs on hand to give away, and I like the look of the Zanflare F2 apart from the strobe.

What I’d really like to see is a high-CRI AA light with no disco modes.

A triple NiMH-AA with Luxeon V LED and FET+1 driver might be a nice “hot rod”. 1400 OTF lumens are doable. Will perform tests once I get the LED.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a AA or AAA light with built in USB charging.

It might be nice to have a light that you can easily recharge while still haveing the option of using readily available primary cells.

JetBeam produced this E10R for AA and 14500,

The light has been reviewed earlier in 2017 when it was released.

The AAA version is this E01R

AFAIK these are the only AA and AAA rechargeable lights on the market. (disclaimer I have been wrong before-just ask my wife)

Side by side 2xAA (like the MT22A), all metal, trit slot, moon mode, high CRI, minimum 400 lumens, small as possible, a good clip and I buy 2 or 3…

A dream EDC light…

I’d like to see something like the Apollo penlight that’s been around on Kickstarter for a while, but without its output being throttled and for an affordable price. USB charging would also be nice.

Despite its drawbacks (single mode, plastic lens etc.), I like how my LL P5.2 with its small slim body and about 50% larger head feels in my hand. For me, this is the perfect format for a pocketable light.

I like the 2xAA side-by-side form and I love my MT22A so I’m al for it!

It would be something that Lumintop is able to design very nicely, but unfortunately I have not seen a decent boost driver from Lumintop. So after all again a cooperation with Manker? (best boost drivers in town!)

I use the hell out of my Pineapple and Ti LAN. Why, they have a very good moonlight mode and are reasonably compact. I am a huge fan of 18650 and 18350 lights, will likely never give them up for my daily EDC as they just put out so much light and I sometimes need that. I would do anything I could to support a very good single AA/14500 light that could do 500 lumens on 14500 and could do 250 to 300 on NiMH. Problem is that it has to have no visible to the eye PWM and should be somewhat efficient on LSD NiMH cells. I do not care about or care for USB charging, zombies might break my solar cells. I would like to see it always start in moonlight with a ramp up to and down from high. Oh, in copper!

My ideal in the single AA format is the Jetbeam MK-1 with tighter and more turns in the head threads. Also no pwm and a neutral 219b/c dedomed on an OP reflector. Retain the clip and AA/14500 support.

Slow is smooth; smooth is fast.

All I want from a BLF 1xAA torch:

• Nichia 219b (or Cree XM-L2/XP-G2 with possibility of warm white tint) emitter
• Three modes (0.5lm → 15-20lm → as bright as possible without sacrificing efficiency)
• HAIII anodized aluminium host
• Reverse clicky switch with L-M-H distribution and mode memory, or M-L-H without memory; electronic switch, only if there’s no “press and hold” to turn on or turn off, because I hate that

Basically an improved Lumintop Tool AA or Thrunite T10, with better mode distribution than both.

Manker’s UI has become a deal breaker for me. I’ve discovered that if a light doesn’t turn off with a single click, I’ll never use it.

+1 to this. I don’t intend on buying any Mankers that work like that.

I hate parasitic drain. So I'd like to stay away from them as much as possible, especially for a AA or AAA light. just a good old mechanic tailswitch for me please. Wink

I am off to visit China in a couple of weeks, and will take a trusty Convoy C8 and a few of these small AA driven lights

Beam shots, I hear you ask! Well they are not great throwers, but better than an old incandescent.

About the MT22A True but

Its a shame its plastic and also no 14500 (power) option.

The other 2xAA light thread got me thinking. Any chance Jaxman would be interested in working together with BLF on a light? The M2 is pretty well received and he is definitely ‘one of us’.

I love the M2, put one of the drivers in a P60 pill as well. It works well off of 1 AA cell also. I wish it had a third mode, something much lower.

We might look at this project. This would be a budget light so there would need to be some volume of sales to help hold down costs. Lets put together a reasonable wish list. This has been talked about forever. Let’s do it! Wink

I would agree to keep costs low on this. There are plenty of fancy AA lights out there.
Bare bones, reliable and cheap.

@texaslumens Do you ship from China? Because if it is US based, going to be very expensive for me. Cheers

If my vote counted I would vote for AA/14500 or AA/123A lithium combo.

I would be interested in this light too. 2xAA, a neutral white tint and basic UI. It also has to be reliable.

That’s an AAA torch. The topic is AA lights.

As far as form factor goes, the ‘perfect’ 2xAA light for me would look a lot like a 4Sevens Mini AA2/M2A with a tail clicky.
