What charge rate do you use for your Li-Ion

What charge do you use for your Li-Ion?
Some manufactures recommend .05c .07c .1c. Do you mark your batteries? Or do you just charge at .05c?

well for me i just place it in the charger and let it do its job lol

I don’t have a charger that supports a fixed charge rate. My VC4 and MC1 plus have variable rates. On the MC1 plus it is about 600-650mA on average. (on ultrafire, samsung and Oege cells)

edit: I only have 18650 li-ions and one 26650. smaller charge rates are therefore not necessary.

Depends on the battery. Most of my 18650s just get .5c or less because my most used charger is 1A max. If I used a charger that did 1c / 2amps or more, I’d label my 18650s. Efest 10440 intentionally less then .5c.

1A for 18650
2A for 26650

Both ended with 0.25A for the “completely full”-feeling

1A for 10440, 14500, 16340, 18350
2A for 18650, 26650

Most of the time, I’m charging 4 cells in the Opus, so I’m limited to 1A. I’d love a charger that could handle 4*2A or more than 1A discharge.

1A for 10440? That’s over 3c. That is likely damaging the cell, reducing it’s capacity and life.

I wish there were more chargers that did 2amp charging. I use an Xtar VP2, which is fantastic, but maxes at 1amp.

I have the Xtar SP2 that does .5 1 and 2A. But .5 probably a little high for smaller batteries.

1a for 18650
2a for 26650

0.5a for the smaller batts - 18350, 16430, 10440

14500 300ma

16340 300ma or 400ma depending on battery

18350 400ma or 600 ma depending on battery

18650 750ma to 1500ma depending on battery

26650 2 amps

maximum charge rate I can do is 2.5amps for 2 batteries or 5 amp for one battery, minimum charge rate is 100ma.

Hobby charger with .5c regardless of size.

1A for my 18650 cells on VP2. Anything less would take like 7+ hours. Its about 3.5 hours for a 3200Mah cell at the moment.
14500 - 500Mah

On travel charger, 0.5A would suffice.

1A for 18650
0.3A or 0.5A for 16340

Get a hobby charger. Some are as low as ~$20 and are fully programmable generally from 0.1 to 5A charge current.

If I’ve got all day I’ll use my i4 at 750mA or 375mA depending on how many batteries I’m charging.
Occasionally I’ll charge my 18650s at 3 amps in my hobby charger if I only have half an hour to be packed up before a search.

EDIT:
I second the notion to get a hobby charger. Mine has paid off immensely for all sorts of uses.

I usually use 1c for all of my Li-Ions…Sometimes like .5C on the tiny ones

18650’s 1 amp

ETA: Idea came from forum member Benckie months ago. Hope I spelled it right and thank you for your informative posts.

IMO too many chargers do not offer low enough charge rates for the smallest Lithium Ion batteries like 10180 and not high enough for the biggies such as 26650 and 32650. I just ordered the Gyrfalcon All-88 which is one of the few chargers that offers 0.1 amp charging. Some of the Miboxer chargers do too, as well as going up to 3 amps charging, a very wide range. Only one regular Li-Ion charger I found seems to go lower than 0.1 amp. Need to look at so called “Hobby” chargers I guess.

I charge all my batteries at 1C.
