KD's "1AAA 3W LED Voltage-step up 10mm circuit board"?

Search doesn’t find a link in comments at BLF so far to this one, has anyone looked at it?

“… * Note: LED/battery/circuit will generate a lot of heat on high mode @ 800mA”

That inductor looks like it may be enough for 800mA, similar size to dx sku 7880 torroid inductor. Would need 3-4A from the cell though.

I have one on order.

Intending to use it in my lumintop tool aaa light.

Will attempt some tests when I get it…

Let us know! I wonder if the Tool has enough space for this driver.

I wonder if it fits a Hugsby.

I have removed the Tool driver and measured it… Its 12mm wide by 8mm high…

The driver is listed on KD as 10mm wide and 10.5mm high… So its a little narrow for the tool, and slightly too long…

I might have to do some adjustment…

In my local DIY-store they have this, 12mm diameter, 1mm tickness:

If only you Brits had adapted to the metric system...

Why use centimetres, when inches will do!

Most Brits still love the old Imperial measurements… Miles, yards, pounds, ounces…

The Romans knew what they were doing.

The use of Imperial is rapidly dwindling though… my generation mix and match between the two…

My kids work purely in Metric; what do they know!?

DX used to sell this exact driver (I used to have one before I destroyed it). The bottom board is too small for the base of the Lumintop, but it may just fit into the space of the pill as there is some clearance past the driver.

Thanks for that!

At least the DX listing is more detailed on the groups and modes.

Think the first group will be the one I stick with. So many blinkies on the third group!

What did you think of it?

I assume its heavy on the PWM.

Cross fingers it all works. Still not received it yet.

It was a while ago sorry; from memory, I liked the driver, however, I needed a single mode light at the time so I took off the top board with the PIC. My sample took just over 1 amp from the AAA at full brightness. Don’t remember how the PWM frequency was.

Hello,im new to Blf,I recently started a new personal project,i wanted to make a simple drop in module for Maglite solitaire.
I can get some Wurthelectronics high power ceramic led, they are the same size base of the cree xp,i already found some pretty small mcpb but i have a hard time finding a10/10.5mm step up driver to fit the light.
The dx version if sold out and the kd link is not working.
Some one can help me?il keep an update on the project
