Im looking for a decent floody 18650 torch. It will be used for Mountain Bike riding and attached to my bars. i have a ultrafire C8 XML from manafont which is v good but looking for a more floody light
how about one of the trustfire Z5 zoomable lights? I just won an ebay auction for one complete with batteries, charger, bike mount, and taillight for under 40 bucks.

That a 'zoom' light would be suitable for MB'ing. I suspect the vibration/bumps would cause the head to zoom when you didn't need it.
I'd suggest a P60 drop-in with an OP reflector, and the host of your choice (501B, 502b, 504b etc.)
I though the P60 dropin would have a similar beam pattern to the Ultrafire C8 XML??
gives much more spill and a larger hot spot than a C8. An orange peel reflector with an XM-L tends to make for a smoother beam.
A shallower reflector than the c8 is what you are asking for something not as deep will give you more flood .. you can try the 2100 unique fire t6xml .At less than 6 feet the flood is floor to ceiling 8foot of flood ..at 8 feet it's almost 12 feet around .I didn't see much difference between the c8 and the p-60 which surprised me because the reflector is much bigger and deeper .the uniquefire 2100 was much more flood
Must work nicely for a flood light. Unfortunately being a novelty they charge serious money for a thing that's probably worth no more than 26usd delivered.

It's not like when you see a OP reflector, that's gonna be floody. C8 has a deep reflector first of all. Some people have flashlights with XR-E leds and they just remove the head to simply have a floody light (eg Romisen RC-G2) . However I don't know how practical is that.
