New Olight i3E 1 x AAA Luxeon

In This shop in Aliexpress appear a new keychain Light 1 x AAA 100 lumens in six colors and 57 mm in length excluding 3 mm more to the handy key loop, a total of 60 mm, almost like a DQG or as Ultrafire UF Fourseven -T1 and Atom. It seems to have TIR lens and LED ... Luxeon! Price: $ 13

Are they real or Olight fakes? It seems to me that are really, by comparison with forms design I3S and TIR lens, not very common in the low-cost keychains. It seems that people from Olight are looking forward to give away for Christmas.

Black and blue are really

Thanks for sharing this.

So this is just an “up to” 100 lumen flashlight, with no modes, and a 37 minute run time?

Edit ; Olight have always had confusing ads, desired mode spacing is as i3s.
It is shorter and lightweight so who knows? Those who gamble,
please tell us.

More edit; removed some text so I do not fool anyone into buying.

Also wondering if it will handle a 10440. Can’t say if they are real or fake, but it does list as 3 modes. No mention of anodizing type either. Guess we will have to wait for these answers until someone here gets one to review for us

Phil

This size is competition for the DQG AAA. And very cool: it is the very first flashlight ever I'm aware of that uses a Luxeon TX led. Perhaps the TX works very well with a TIR.

They are real deal. I3 EOS ECONOMIC EDITION. I saw them listed together with Olight i3s-cu early this week.

Pregullas picture is from olight catalog and says one mode.
Troubled future for Aliexpress sellers claiming 3 mode + strobe?

You can drop it from 4 feet, according to the specs. But being lightweight with TIR I suspect you can drop it from the Eiffel Tower and it'd still be fine.

If you drop it from Eiffel Tower, even if it survives there is no was you will find the landing place from that height

These look great, if i ever figure out how to get out the driver & upgrade my Olight I3S to a XP-L. I will get one of these to try as an even smaller 10440 sized DD XP-L blaster

Does anyone know the size of the Luxeon TX and the chances an XP-L could fit in its TIR?

EDIT And if anyone know how to get the I3S head open, please tell me how

EDIT2 the TX seems to be 3.3mm & the package 3.7mm, the XP-L is 3.45mm so they might fit in the same TIR.

XP-L

Luxeon TX

You have only to unscrew the pill from the alu head with thiny scissors or pliers; the pill is glued but squeezing a little inward the pill with the tip of the scissors well strung on the two small holes, it is not difficult to unscrew. I have three i3S and all are "decapited". And the XP-L runs very well in the i3S reflector, but makes it more floody.

Check out what M4D M4X posted in thebanggood deals thread post #61

Olight i3E $9.99

Noctiluco thanks :), that sound great i hope i also manage to get it out.
I have tried like you suggested to screw from the tiny holes, but so far it hasn’t budged :frowning: Is it lefty loosey threads?

I even just now used a 10440 to heat it up by running the light at high, covered by a blanket until it was so hot it even started to smell a bit and it still wouldn’t budge……:frowning:

EDIT YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS i got it out  now i can finally upgrade this light. I love the size of the i3S but the NW tint is ugly and the XP-G2 is weak and inefficient compare to the XP-L V6, i can’t wait to make this another little crazy handwarmer just in time for winter

Massive thanks Noctiluco  i will credit you my future i3S mods

EDIT2 I think the heating up part helped weaken the threadlock, because when i got the pill out there was lots of sticky & stanky threadlock all over the threads. I don’t know what nasty chemicals are in threadlock but the skin on my hands hate it, they got all itchy and i even got a rash from it :Sp

So which way is it? Counterclockwise to loosen?

Yes lefty loosey  I also used a small scissor to open it, like Noctiluco showed in the picture to the right of his i3S.

I can’t even count the number of times i have wondered how i could get it open, the i3S was one of my first lights but even with the 10440 as soon as i started modding it felt way underpowered & i have dreamt of upgrading it so many times since then.

My plan is first to drop in a XP-L V6 3D on a 10mm sinkpad, just to see how the driver handles it. But the real plan is to use Richards 10mm single sided driver board as a contact plate for a DD build. If the light can’t take the heat i might use a the single sided fet driver but i hope i don’t have to build in such boring features as a turbo stepdown in my little handwarmers

I just checked out the DQG AAA SS & Ti that djozz mentioned earlier & the i3E is a few mm bigger 2mm wider & 3mm longer (if you count the key ring stud), but it is even lighter than the $58 DQG Ti AAA :), the Ti weights 9g and the i3E weights 7.9g.
The Efest IMR10440 weight 9.126g + 7.9g = 17g  (if we can use a 10440 that is)

Plus for modding a hot build i consider Ti & SS pretty useless, compared to good old & cheap aluminium lights with much better heatsinking potential.

The big question now for me is can we use a 10440 in it with the stock driver, and is it possible to open like the i3S for easy modding.

Hey,

whats about the silver one?

it looks bare! or what is it? it doesnt look like a die, as it is too shiny, and more expensive.

Thanks for noticing ChibiM:) very interesting I missed that until you pointed it out.

I posted about it in the bare A6 thread.

I hope someone gets a GB going on these soon.
