This light is almost extremely nice. I keep saying that about these Thorfire lights, and I mean it as constructive criticism only.
The PF04 has the hardest switch I have ever used, and the lack of a neutral white option keep me from shouting from the rooftops about how nice this light is. For 14 dollars it is a good deal. If the button was fixed, it would be a great deal. If, by some miracle it came with a fixed button and a neutral white emitter? I would cry tears of joy.
I actually liked the stiff button. I figured it wouldn’t go off accidentally very easy. Also the button wouldn’t allow it to tail stand.
I didn’t care about the mode order of moonlight, high and medium. I forgot to give it a ding for that in my ThorFire PF04 review .
The cool white XP-G2 emitter has a pure white tint with no blue in its spill. It would be nice if ThorFire did have a 3D neutral white option
, or better yet, a high CRI Nichia 219 option. Are you listening ThorFire? HINT!
The price with the coupon makes this a good deal. Since ThorFire is listening to Old Lumens’ advice, expect to see improved versions in the near future.
If this had an HI-CRI LED then it would be perfect for medic use (and I would get some pcs).
Also, the UI for medic use shall be moonlight-LO-HI preferably with no memory, so as not to blind patient checking pupils and eye movement, and the medic him/her-self while checking confined spaces such as mouth/throat.
Ditch the moonlight mode or make it hidden. Have it start on high with a forward clicky or at least on mid with a forward clicky. People have been complaining about a stiff switch, lighten it up a bit if it’s stiff.
I received this light free from them with a code. I have to say that in my opinion this is a great (2) AAA light. I love the look, the feel, and the quality. The only knock, and it is a big one to me, is that the switch is very difficult to click. The half presses are fine, but to start and stop is a pain!
Switch is very difficult to click because we want to avoid accidental on when it is put in bag or pants pocket. But I confess it’s too hard to click, new batch is improving.
