Solarforce Masterpiece Pro-1 Turbo Head King ~ Monster Thrower + Free L2i

I see quite a few members here have the MPP 1 head with the L2i extension , how good a thrower ? worth the price tag ? 18650's fit ok ? anygood on 3 AAA's ? does it get enough juice on one 18650 as Im planning on using L2T body and am considering the extension , is it needed ? appreciate your thoughts

sforce

how does the 18650 fit the L2i body rattle around alot wouldnt it ? do you need to sleeve it ?

advice apprecaited

On longer protected cells, there can be quite a bit of spring pressure. You may consider trimming the tailspring a bit if this is an issue in your case.

Sleeving the battery will prevent any rattling. This can be done by encasing the cell in a short length of PVC, or simply sliding on 2-3 thick o-rings over the battery prior to insertion in the torch tube.

Forget about 3xAAA, even on 1x18650 this light won't go at 100%. The best would be 2x18650 or 3x18650. You can also use 2x16340 or 3x16340 when you want shorter light.

As for the throw, yes, it's massive. But with needle-tight beam. Not very useful.

I'I buy it , would be a more attractive deal if they included the head for the L2i , pencil beam is ok with me and will suit my purpose as long as it can throw well ie 100 yrds + I'I be happy and thats not to mention it jus looks sweet ..no go on 3AAA's ? I wouldnt plan on usin AAA's but its a handy option to have if needed ,

why no reviews on this package ? searching posts it seems a few members here have brought it ...

anyone got 18650 tailcap readings for it ?

Well I can tell you I have the Solarforce Skyline I and it throws a pencil beam and I love it. I just wished Solarforce would make and XM-L around 1000 lumens that would throw like this. That would be a great buy.

dont worry I want it as well , its a tossup between the 2 ....olds review of the skyline 1 put me off a bit ,for memory he states he only got .7 amp draw at tailcap with 18650 and stated it seemed to be directed at cr123 primary user s .... but its a sweet lookin light and very handy to have the ramping power , being solarforce probly cant go wrong with either
