BLF A6

I got one of these BLF A6 lights from Bang Good and was having a problem trying to enable the mode memory. I soldered a bridge from Pin 3 to the outside ring which I assume is the ground but when I put it back together everything works the same. Am I missing something? Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Yup, way wrong. The memory is enabled or disabled after you click the switch fifteen times, wait for one pair of flashes and then turn the light off after a single flash.

NO soldering needed…

Here is the link for trouble shooting the A6

I don’t understand it but that worked. Here is the instructions I got. Maybe someone can explain where I misread?
If CONFIG_STARS is defined, you can ground pin 3 of the MCU to enable mode memory instead of using config Mode.

I think that may have been the original intention to enable memory, but it just got programmed into the mcu. Not sure why they didn’t remove that bit about soldering, seems to add to the confusion. Makes it easier, IMO, to just use the switch instead of disassemble light, solder, then reassemble.

I am unsure that CONFIG_STARS is enabled in the Manker driver firmware. If it works, great, if not, the method above should do you good with the firmware enabled click method.

I am not even sure what Config_Stars means to be honest. All I know is it works now and that is what I was after. Thanks!! I am here to learn though. My other hobbies are getting to be too expensive so I figured I would try to learn more about this one.

No problem, and welcome to BLF, stay, browse, find some nice lights…

Thanks, I will. I am sure I can find a few more places that I need to stash a light, just in case.
