GearBest Is Holding My Money Since June!

For right now I am going to get to the point. I have discontinued all purchases from Gearbest since July, due to the fact that they are withholding my money, and they will NOT send me the product I ordered multiples of, the OLight M3XS UT Javelot, which was ordered the end of June 2015.

Not only was this order placed in June while it now approaches December for that OLight, but at the rate of change in electronics, prices have dropped; it would be thievery to even believe that just receiving what was ordered back in June can make up for this. I am not a bank. If you need money Gearbest, go to a bank, don’t steal from me.

They blatantly lied to me twice about the same order when questioned where it was. I was told on two separate occasions that “We are inspecting your order for quality”! What? No, I believe I do that. You just ship what I pay you for. H) Who buys that kind of BS? Because, you know, so many Chinese sellers inspect new packages for quality. That to me is an insult, because it implies how stupid they believe we are.

Here’s what they have done besides the lying part of the deal and just keeping my money of course. Both times (replies #2 & #3) I was told 7-10 days before the item would ship, and that’s already months after waiting. Then nothing, zip, notta. Well on the first attempt when it started, I tried to expedite the order since someone was waiting for a build, on the same day as the order. They clearly got that message, because they didn’t ship the item out. Then they waited weeks, and replied to the message I sent the day of the order, asking if I still wanted it expedited, and saying sorry for the delay in response (meanwhile, the other lights of the same model and order time had already showed up at my shipping address). Sorry for the delay in response, though? How about sorry for using scam tactics to attempt to wring more money out of the purchase? Like I said, while I waited for it to ship, I received the others. They were simply trying to get me to pay more to expedite the order even faster, yet due to their delay. I replied each time, “just send the order out please” was the jist of it (I pretty much don’t want to talk to thieves, would rather just get my product and run.). Each time I would reply to send the order, they would wait for days, then send some question that has nothing to do with anything relevant, trying to flip the ticket over like it was waiting on me. I don’t give Chinese companies my primary email. Why? Because my primary email gets no spam at all, the email used for past Chinese orders gets a message every 20 minutes on average. …and that is why the whole thing works that way; you can’t trust these sellers, even with an email address.

This whole experience makes me want to laugh. We let these people advertise here, praise them in some instances, while they sit and scam our members?

Still no response, still no light, still no offer to justify or replace the months of depreciation on a light that isn’t exactly “cheap”. Do NOT buy from Gearbest! Best advice I can give anyone at this point.

I will keep the forum posted on anything that progresses in the situation, though at this point they have completely ignored any reasonable response from me like my message didn’t exist in front of their face.

I like bright lights, and I cannot lie.

And another where CSgearbest did have a presence in the forum.

*Mod: 7/10/15: Due to an increasing number of issues with GearBest, we have banned the store from all deal posts (both rep and non rep) on OzBargain.

After multiple paypal disputes and months of lies from gearbest,I believe that gearbest is the worst company that exists. They lie and steal your money. This forum has become a gearbest forum, full of gearbest advertisements and gearbest complaints.Maybe this forum should have a name change.A name that includes gearbest. Why they are allowed to use this forum makes me wonder.

Due to the multiple serious reports of unscrupulous business practices, I just gave GearBest an AVOID rating and am terminating their banner advertising contract.

As to why their account is allowed to continue on BLF, well, they are simply too big to ignore. Many will continue to do business with them, and at least some of their customer service abuses can be corrected by allowing their CS reps to continue resolving cases here.

The only reason I keep buying with them at the moment is the points I have. Once it’s over, I’m probably not going to bother given that banggood has been prompt in shipping all my orders (most of the times within 24 hours) and ALL orders even untracked have been received quite fast and NO lost packages…..

This is what they need to fix (in brief):
1. Proper indication if an item is in stock/back ordered/out of stock.
2. Fast shipping times as other sellers (24 hours to a max of 48 hours).
3. No taking of money of an item is out of stock.
4. Using the proper shipping methods which would result in minimal package losses. If other sellers can do it even with unregistered orders, why can’t they?? (Either staff stealing products or they are not shipping anything)
5. A proper and prompt website Customer Service for faulty items/queries. Right now, they take ages to answer queries.
6. A proper and honest refund policy for items not received/faulty. They should shop with that 50% crap or buyer pays return shipping when their items arrive DOA.
7. Not taking ages (gaming the system time wise) on CS/Paypal to effect refunds/fix problems.
8. Price match: Tried it and it worked once out of two times. The 2nd time, they just plain ignored my querry. If you can’t price match, fair enough. Please inform the client via an email.
9. Better order management. Splitting orders and not adding tracking is bad if customers have not been informed.
10. Improving Website:
- Add stuffs like number of items sold. (like BG)
- Option to have a notification when an item price is lowered (like BG)
- Ability to STAY LOGGED ON gearbest website when logging on after closing the browser/shutting down PC.
- Better and faster live chat support with an estimated waiting time, number in queue (they removed it). Currently, you have to wait 2-3 hours to get a CS in live chat…
- Going on the deals pages, you can only click on one item at a time. No way to open it in another window and continue to surf the deals pages. FIX THAT. WAY TOO ANNOYING.
- More realistic pricing display on items instead of offering bogus 90%+ discounts etc. People do not buy this crap nowadays.
- Ability to track orders from within the website. It’s broken right now.
11. Last but not least (Aint being paid to have a constructive criticism there), paying to get positive reviews will eventually bite back at you. As the number of negative criticisms will rise, the problems will no longer be ‘hideable’.

Never ever forget and forgive. Niwal**er new kid on the block trying to act tough.
