They're actually a valid store, at least according to their eBay feedback and to my past experience with them - I ordered something for valentine's which they could not deliver in time (because of the new year holiday) and they refunded me for this reason with no problem.
And I don't think they collect any more information about shoppers than shipping address (which you need to give anyway in order to receive your orders...).
I found this free item on http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/ and this company got a lot of positive feedback in Canada. They offer a lot free items to their customers if you watch their facebook page.
So, I don't think they are spammer. Anyway, you just need to offer your email and shipping address for this free item.
