Thanks.  I have one of those round spacers that have the springs on either side for contact so that may just work.

Length is not the issue, diameter is.

as you can see in this pic the 26650 on the left 18650 on the right
same length different diameter

Ah, I see.  I found some spacers then that would work from an old flash light, thanks.

I forgot, but will my L6 work with two NCR18650B protected cells?  I am looking at these ones.  They are 65.5mm flat tops.  https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B010LTDFBK/ref=pe_1243740_268305490_em_...

You can use 18650s as long as you have the spacer, but the NCR18650B is not a great choice for this light because of the cell’s high internal resistance. They will work, but the light output will drop more quickly than with higher performance cells.

Yeah, wasn't sure about that.  Hard to get Keeppower 26650's sent to canada with the new laws that was why I was asking.

Gnope. If you’re gonna use 2, you’ll need button-tops. You “can” use small Nd magnets to bridge them, but drop the light and they theoretically can shift and short the positive to the (negative) tube.

Plus, they’re great for up to 3A or so, which is fine for smaller lights, but will limit current to the L6.

Should work fine in lower modes, but…

Or you can try a solder blob to act as a bump, but be careful.

Thanks, I think I may as well just get some good 26650's then.

Yeah, best bet, albeit not the cheapest.

You can still use 18650s, even without sleeves, but they’ll have a tendency to rattle around when the light’s shaken. Otherwise, a thin sleeve (even cardboard from a cereal box Big Smile ) can be wrapped around the cells a coupla times to keep them centered and somewhat cushioned.

Simon usually includes a clear flower looking rubbery ring, 2 of them (or 4) that are for putting around an 18650 so they won’t rattle in the 26650 tube. They’re usually inside the tail cap or in the package the light came in.

Oh yeah, forgot about them. Got ‘em with my L2s, so makes sense that they’d be included with the L6, too.

I don’t think those spacers come with the L6. Maybe the L2 or smaller lights only.

Didnt get spacers eithers in mine, but i dont get it why would anyone run this light with 18650? i dont see the point in putting those in a big light that throws almost 4000lumens, longer runtimes is better and the batteries sit tight and no need worry about some cheap spacer..

It’s mainly because protected 26650 cost double the price of protected 18650.

Protected 26650 are also very hard to find right now.

Is the L2 extension tube in Simons link below the same tube as the L6?  I need two of these tubes and they

really look the same as the L6 but I want to make 100% sure before I order them.

That looks like an L6 tube, if I’m correct the L2 Tube is made of 2 parts as the L2 can run off 1 or 2, 26650 cells.

In saying that it would still work for both the L2 and L6.

Same…Block or Ring style 2×26650 tubes will work between the L2/L6 even the 2pc L2 tubes. all interchange/lego.

I got 2 protected KeepPower 26650s from Banggood for $18.11. I used the generic 4BLF discount code. Ordered 6 December and received just after Christmas. These are the batteries Convoy recommend for the L6.

They are in stock. I just checked.
