The clip is $1.50 at lighthound and the slide lock is, what, another $0.50 (way more locally at the craft store)? Add in $3 for shipping and it’s a no brainer. You just have to wait a month to get them.
I wish they would start selling lanyard hardware by itself. Be nice to order clips and such without paying $9 for shipping.
Your local hardware store carries many items that can be repurposed into lanyard materials . Don't forget about craft stores .
For those who use them, do you use lanyards on all of your lights?

What do you all use a lanyard for? I've never seen a use for one.
Sorry to disagree, but that gate clip looks incredibly tacky.
To prevent losing it, like when you are on a roof or something.
Makes it easier to pull out of a pocket (in the right direction). Many tie fobs, lanyards, or some combination for this.
Can also provide hands free use depending on the style.
Easier to pull out of pocket and something else to grab if your light is falling, saves a few drops.
Ever heard of anal beads?
