sony vtc5A ?where?

Where can I buy a pair of sony vtc5A’s ?

Currently out of stock:

They also have the original vtc5:

Depends on where you are located.

U.s. Baltimore Maryland

I’ve used these folks a few times. https://www.imrbatteries.com/sony-vtc5-18650-2600mah-30a-flat-top-battery/

There are better cells currently available, why chase down some that are inferior? Samsung 30Q’s are better

This is the first time i’ve heard that opinion. What makes the sony vtc5A’s inferior? Other than the different capacity.
I always thought they were great cells.

This:

Yes, I agree the 30Q’s are great cells with higher capacity. I have many myself. The VCT5’s are also great cells. It depends on their intended usage. I was under the impression they “hit” a little harder on a fresh charge than the samsungs?

The VTC5 was great when it first came out. It has been out a while now. While it maintains a tiny bit more voltage than other newer cells at high discharge, it does not last long before falling behind.

Just want to make sure everyone’s talking about the same cell. VTC5A. yes, A.

I’m looking for the vtc5a not the vtc5 I have plenty of them I’m looking for more amperage not life can’t get none here in the u.s. if ANYONE can help that would be great

Try that same cell test at 25A and show the temp. then see what comes out on top.

That graph above is VTC5*A* vs 30Q.
Depending on your application, 30Q will give you more amperage.

But yes, in the first few seconds or minutes the VTC5A might be a tiny bit better. And above 10A they’re better anyway.

The 30Q will get way to hot and dangerous at 25-30A for what I need it for what I need it for. The 30Q can only handle a constant discharge of 20A witch is not enough. I’m using vtc4s and 5s now but I need something stronger while still having the most capacity possible the vtc5A is the best choice until the vtc6 comes out.

First I tought you needed a battery for vapping and then you said 20A constant is not enough…? If it’s for vapping then I agree the Sony is a “safer” cell, but for flashlights the 30Q is perfect.

Sorry, I missed the memo about VTC5 being replaced by the VTC5A. Woops

Yes it’s for my vape. I really need some vtc5A’s!

Not sure if this helps, but 101vape is having a “battery blowout” this weekend. Sony VTC4S and 5s (not sure bout 5A). They also have others at pretty good prices. 30Q’s and others I’ve heard mention of on BLF.
I just got an email from 101 so I thought I’d pass it along for if anybody is looking for VTCs, or other batteries. Hope this helps!
