Another Fake from GearBest. Jakemy Screwdriver Set.

Sorry, yet another post about GB.
I’ve ordered Jakemy JM-6108 set from GearBest. When I received it the quality did not feel on par with another Jakemy set I have got from AliExpress. The marking on the bits was a bit dodgy and the machining is not as good as on the other set, the steel of the bits is of low quality. The screwdriver itself looks cheap and flimsy. So I went and checked the security code on Jakemy’s website
The set from AliExpress is genuine, the code from GB was not recognized. In addition to that it was shipped in original thing cardboard box and padded envelope with other stuff I have ordered with no additional protection. So the case was cracked upon arrival.
I have contacted GearBest with all the details and photo’s. They have replied to me that they’ve checked it with their supplier and it’s genuine. And that the damage must have been caused during transportation but they are ready to give $3 compensation in store credit. We’ll see how it goes.

BTW I’ve got Bluedio earphones as well in that order (arrived in smashed box) and those are genuine.

tell them they have 24 hours to refund the screwdriverset since it is fake. Provide pics of this.
Tell them if they do not comply you are forced to open a paypal dispute and do that if they have not given it back (or promised to do so ASAP)
The next day after opening the paypal dispute ask them to react in paypal within 24 hours or that you are forced to escalate it to a claim as soon as Paypal allows you to.
This should do the trick and if it doesn’t then Paypal will do the trick for you (just don’t miss the deadlines from paypal and their questions if they have those)

Who in the heck gets the idea to fake a multi-bit screwdriver? This is just beyond ridiculous on the part of the fake-manufacturers.

Ah Jason... They can and will fake anything

It must be a good documentry, but the narrater sounds like he is about to cry, I can’t listen to that voice, sorry closed the tab.
(Edit @1post down OK I try to ignore the horrific voice and focus what it says /edit)

heheh I was in Lima Peru about 13 years ago and needed some batteries.
Bought 4 Duracell AA cells. They worked for 5 minutes and then I noticed the foru of them had less weight then 1 original.
“Ah this is Peru,” my compagnion sighed: “they copy everything here.” (but I bet they were made in China

"The Fake Trade" It's worth another look. Knockoff designer clothes is one thing but it's horrifying stuff seeing them making fake eggs from brick dust and finding fake medications being sold in pharmacies in first-world countries.

This is recent and pretty dismaying. The people hired to find counterfeits were themselves frauds.

They were quick to reply at first and offered me a generous $3 refund. After I refused to accept it they have disappeared. PayPal claim incoming.

The problem with paypal is, they are going to ask you if you sent the product back to Gearbest and if you have proof that you sent it back. GB knows you will not spend $50 to mail back a $12 item. If you try and go the cheaper route to mail the item back without a tracking number, there’s a 95% chance they will say they never received it. In short, you really have no recourse to get your money back.

The best thing you can do is not buy from them in the future and post problems like this to warn as many people as you can.

You’re right.
A lot of people think Paypal will be the solution for everything.
Paypal suck!

^LOL!

An update:
After I told GB that I am not happy with their solution it took 2 weeks for them to reply that they need more time for further investigation. By that time I’ve already opened a PayPal dispute for a full refund for the fake item. They didn’t react to the dispute. After 10 days I escalated it to a claim and 5 days later they finally refunded me.

Yea, unfortunately you have to literally rip the money out of their permanently clinched fists. Once however, the proper pressure is deeply applied to the nerve in the wrist, the hand must open ever so slightly, to relieve the horrible pain, the green paper is ever so slowly extracted from once was a permanent grip! Only to reclose again permanently onto its next victims money.

Get used to it… soon nearly everything from all these sellers will be fakes, copies, clones, knock-offs, and generally a waste of money trash. The whole market of imported goods will soon collapse into a huge pile of useless junk that will bankrupt paypal & the world. (i’m exaggerating a bit, but you get the idea.

DBSAR
Not if we fight back
Get that money back and write negative reviews selling a fake will cost them and force either honesty or selling good stuff. (Just say it is LB and its fine or put the cree in there)

Well I’ve been fighting back against the flashlight scams on my own site and it’s been working! Google “flashlight scams” and I’m on page 1 ahead of BLF, which is on page 2! The funny thing is that if you Google “flashlight scam” then me and BLF are both on page 2.

That same scam has been mutating and I’ve been catching most of the permutations. But since they are selling the same flashlight, it’s hard for them to change the name because they had the factory brand them. So, they seem to be having a hard time evading the warnings lately.

On topic, I never heard of Jakemy so I didn’t know it was something that could be faked lol. Tools are one thing I try not to cut corners with, so I won’t use any made-in-China tools or multi-tools, though I love Chinese pocket knives.

Hey buddie wakie wakie…. they are making FAKE WALNUTS in China empty shees filled with concrete, i do believe a mutli tool like that will be faked great time

They’re not fake walnuts, they’re fake kinder surprise eggs

Walnut shells filled with concrete chips.
What’ll they think of next?

Imagine being a buyer trying to build an aircraft or a nuclear power plant, these days.
