Conclusion:

I’ve come to the conclusion that the ThorFire JM07 is a very nice quality flashlight. I liked it so much that I bought another one for my grandson when they had it on sale for the awesome price of $9.99!!!

I don’t have any beam shots to show right now. When compared side by side with a ThorFire C8, the ThorFire JM07 has a softer hot spot. I’ll have to swap out the OP reflector with a SMO someday to see if there is any difference.

Thanks for the review. You justified my impulse buy.
It says Shadow on the bottom of the driver? That was the original manufacturer of the JM07 wasn’t it? I wonder if Thorfire bought out there old stock or something. I don’t see the Shadow listed for sale anywhere.
I kind of like the idea of the side switch for mode changes. I guess I’ll just have to wait until it shows up.
Did you by chance get any tailcap readings?

Thanks Jubeldum.

Very nice tear down and pics! Great for the PRICE!! Should be a fun and inexpensive mod. A resistor mod or delete, upgrade leads 22-20 awg, spring (s) bypassed. A DTP and emitter re-flow or upgrade. Could even be a FET upgrade too?

Thanks for the review! Especially appreciate the comparison to the C8 beam. Looking forward to trying mine out when it arrives in a few weeks.

One question, if you get a chance - how does it do with 18650 vs 26650? Any difference besides runtime?
Also curious about amp readings with the stock driver.
Thanks again!

Haven’t done any readings yet. Here’s another picture that shows SHADOW more clearly. Through-hole obscures the H.

Nice review, thanks. I’m also twiddling my thumbs impatiently waiting for mine to arrive.

This is a question I’ve been meaning to ask for some time: what is that doughnut shaped coil found on some drivers and what does it do?

Short and straight to the point. I love it! Would love beamshots and comparison with similar lights in its class though. If you so happen to own anyth close to it that is. Else, it’s perfectly fine w me! Keep it up!

Being a total noob at the mod game (just joined here a week ago and am still getting my inventory of stock and BLF buy lights up to acceptable levels before I start to meddle), if you were to swap that reflector out, what would be a good SMO to use? I have two of those lights coming from the recent El Cheapo deal on Amazon, so I’m curious what would fit should (when) I decide to use one as a Frankenlight…

I'm curious too about this. I got two coming.

I think there will be no more of these lights - suspect they were selling off inventory.

For the reflector, with a 43 mm head diameter, a C8 reflector might fit, but can't tell without measuring it.

So SS or alum bezel?

I’m sorry I missed out on that $9.99 deal.

I’m glad I ordered one when I first saw the deal. I just checked again and it looks like they are currently unavailable. Not sure if it was a pricing error or what, but it seems like a heck of a light for only $10!

Mine showed up today. Tracking said it was still in China, lol. I have to say, I really like it. 1st 26650 light I’ve had, and I like the fit in my hand. There really isn’t anything not to like. Just a simple 3 mode light. If I had bought 2, I would probably mod one, but I think this one will be fine how it is.
