The best is without the glass , you can just use the stock ring and the ledil optics IF the pill is made correctly for that setup

And what do you think is right overall height of spacer for this setup?
I have measured all components several times and decided that the spacer must be 8.8mm height for using with stock lens and pill together.
But lots of BLF users have nitro`s spacers that are 1.2mm smaller. And nobody wrote that they are to thin.

A couple months ago I would have agreed that without the glass lens (always need an O-Ring for structural integrity i.e. Watertight) is best, but I have done some recent testing and found out that the stock carclo 24mm optic will “melt” and warp if you don’t have a solid flat base a.k.a. The Lens above it to add rigidity. Unfortunately all that does is prolong the life of the optic. I have also figured out that once the light starts seeming “not as bright” a simple optic swap usually gets it back on par with the original output. My conclusion is the heat comming off the LEDs distorts the optic internally. I am guessing the same goes for the ledil optics, better buy multiple so you can swap them out in the future, they’re cheap enough anyway.

Well i havent tested the latest Nitro batch, i made my own and they are kinda different and Al only since the Al spacer is 15 grams, the Cu one is 45 grams and the head becomes kinda heavy , respectively deballansing the torch while in the hand on when mounted: mine are 10.5mm in height and 30mm in diamether: yes they dont contact wit the side of the head but there is an oxidation layer anyway, plus if the spacer twists it wont damage the emitters

I just finished two triples for a customer. We added the UCL series lens from the Flashlight Lens folks. This seems to make a great combination and improves the beam in my opinion. TL
