New 3-mode Hugsby P32 1xAA at QCG

Hello all,

This looks promising:

I have never really looked very closely at the Hugsby P31 because I don't care much for bright lights with no low mode. But the P31 received consistently high marks for quality. So it looks like there might be a P31 now for people like me. The P32 claims to have three modes. Looks nice, tailstandable, with a clip. It's too expensive now at QCG, but I imagine it'll go for about $16 on other sites pretty soon.

I love my Hugsby P31. Seems like the P32 has even higher output on high than the P31 according to their site. I would buy one at that price if that's true.

Just a simple high-low or a high, medium, low would be much nicer. At least it doesn't do OSO, SOS or whatever.

I agree Don. The SOS mode is pretty useless.

Nice, the Hugsby P32 3-mode just arrived at Kaidomain!

Does it look legitimate? Anything noticeable from the pictures that they have drastically cheapened or changed from the P31?

Hmmm, and they have a yellow version too... with a black clip!

I miss the P31 which I bought to give away so when I saw this one the other day I ordered it. Don't like the idea of the "gold" one though. I'm hoping it will have a very large difference between high and low.

The pics are too small (and low quality) to make out any differences. Will do some detailed dismantling and photographing when it arrives. The P31 was an excellent light so I hope they haven't cheapened it.

KD's random spec generator has been at it again though, they claim a weight of 2.8 grams - about the same as 3 small paper clips. I guess they mean 28g or about an ounce. But it is more satisfying to poke fun at their random description generator than to get them to fix the specs.

Hmmm, I think I might order one of these. I'm kind of waiting for DX to carry it, but DX hasn't had too many interesting new products (for me) recently.

I agree, DX has not added new interesting products (flashlights, flashlights, flashlights, flashlights, flashlights, flashlights, flashlights, flashlights, flashlights, flashlights, flashlights, flashlights, flashlights, flashlights, flashlights, flashlights,)

Uppss I am becoming flashaholic!

Well, there have been plenty of new lights at DX, but I personally prefer AA lights, and there haven't been many of those.

Hey, Don, I am waiting your review, to see if is worth to buy one! (or 2, or 3.......)

There appear to have been way more sex toys than flashlights lately.

I've bought precisely one light from them in the last month.

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.33326

In fact I've only bought two lights from them since the end of May. There just haven't been any that really interested me.

And I do wonder about that AAA light which is now on its way to the UK.

The other one of them was the Uniquefire HS-802 of ill repute. The driver replacement smoked itself (Or far more likely I got solder somewhere I shouldn't have) and now won't come out of the pill. Time to introduce it to Mr. Propane Torch I think. Or perhaps his wife Ms. Acetylene Torch.

KD has been a little quicker getting stuff to me lately so hopefully it'll be here in a couple of weeks or thereabouts. With KD there appears to be no way of finding out what is going on. This is probably more annoying to me than their dreadful slowness in fulfilling orders though the two together is not a recipe for repeat orders.

DinoDirect and LightTake both say they shipped stuff on Sunday that I ordered on Saturday - now up the the various Post Offices to get their act together. Well, there has to be a first time...

Don, that flood to throw flashlight..... is good, is worth?

And, the AAA flashlight you ordered is the Lions XP-C?

I am confused...

No, the AAA light I ordered is this one from DX - the only interesting (to me) light there in the last month. I ordered from DinoDirect this zooming light which has had many good reviews and the price was good. Well apart from that, from Lightake I ordered one of these which, according to HK Post has not yet made it into the tracking system. This is not unusual and doubtless it will appear here in a couple of weeks. This is the first time I've tried Lightake and it certainly helped that they had a special offer on a light I was interested in.

Oh yes, and one of these from KD because the earlier model was en extremely good light which I gave away but the 3 mode will probablybe more useful to me and one of these from Lightake because I like the look of some of the MrLite lights and wanted to see one for myself.

Don't intend to buy any more lights this month now - unless they are almost free. If I had a wife, she'd probably kill me!

Better get on with building a website for a dentist, I'm going to need the money to pay for this lot.

OK..... I am interested in the review/comments/opinions about the Hugsby 3 mode and the mrlite.

I will wait paciently.

Thank you!

Hey all,

KD just cancelled an order on a P32 and QCG hasn't listed the Hugsby any more... are they gone for good?

Or are they available elsewhere?

Don't tell me that... the 14500 driver P32 is now listed as back-ordered at KD.

The P31 with the 14500 only P32 3-mode driver is here. Minimum voltage is 2.8, maximum is claimed to be 15V. How you are going to get three cells into that tube and how you are going to get rid of the huge heat that 12.6V will produce I leave as an exercise for the reader.

http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=10740

Heat from 12.6V? Peltier and a CPU cooler with a 150MM fan, I'm guessing.

Thanks Don, I'm going to jump on that one now.

Once I got the order placed, it showed as back-ordered, not in stock (as it does on the product page). I think it's history as well.
