I’ll wait for V3…… kidding of course.  V1 sounds more than good enough for me and if a V2 comes about and is a useful upgrade, may get that one too.

Once the production model is available, and if it’s even equal or better than the Prototypes i have built so far, ( Proto-V1 & V2 i have & use now) then the production BLF LT1 lantern will still be better by far than any other consumer lantern i have tested, used and seen in stores or online.

why not? if you own a digial camera,DSLR or a fillin light etc(most have alum bodies) and you have a tripod or monopod then you would do it without even think about it!!!

Caving, Climbing, Mountaineering, Kayaking, Diving etc any time anywhere!!! If you in the UK let me know and lets Play!

I know, that's why I'm not holding out for a possible V2 as V1 is going to be light years ahead of anything else

Tripod screws are always coated with nickel or zinc so you don’t have to worry about corrosion, and female threads are stronger then male threads so there won’t be a stripping problem. Every aluminum engine block and head has steel fasteners threaded into it.

Lets just hope that the screw is long enough so when the threads fail you can glue a steel nut, under the shelf…

I’m sorry to hear this. I hope things start turning around for you. With a little more hope some others here can pick up this project and have them ready to go next spring for your next outing.

Den, don’t feel sorry!!
You’ve started something great!
I’m pretty sure this project will go on and will turn out great!

This isn’t blf if we’ll let this one go.

You have done a tremendous amount of work on this and you can be proud. A lantern was a big gap in the market and this looks incredible.

I wish you all the best with your health.

It falls to us now to pick up the torch (pun somewhat intended) to see this completed.

What needs to happen now to complete this? We seem to be nearly at a final (fingers crossed) prototype stage as far as I can see but I don’t have any experience with this.

DBSAR, I would also like to thank you for they job you did.
Your retirement from the project leaves a hole that the community may or may not be able to fill.
I hope the project will go well and actually it is so advanced already that I think it will.

I really wish that your health improves and that you’ll return to us.
Farewell DBSAR.

Hi Den,
I’m sorry to hear that you are not doing well, and hope for some recovery. I think the Lantern project has advanced enough that it will become a reality so you did a great job on that, thanks. I’m not the man to pick this project up as initiator (not a lantern fanatic, and enough to do already) but I’m alright helping in the background if needed.
Cheers! Jos

Thank You for all your hard work on this project.

Filling your shoes will be a hard task for anyone to fill.

I haven’t been here for long but still, no need to apologise.
Seeing how much you’ve done and how far this project has advanced, a huge thank you to you.
But please take care of yourself. Health is more important than anything.

I’m sure there are people who can pick up from where you left.

Hope that things work out for you. Your life and health are way more important than anything going on in BLF so you should definitely focus on them.
