A nice matte muddy Brown is a great color too, but I suspect I’ll be happy shooting a layer of that color paint over a sand/FDE base, or vice-versa. The subtle two-tone you get as the paint wears will likely appeal to me.

BUT … lets wait to see what colors Sofirn can get before we get too emotionally attached to any specific colors.

Yeah, we wouldn’t want anyone to find out which long time member helped his friend Alex (along with others and probably himself) game the GB by taking the spots of others.

I had a notification of a PM a while back, and it disappeared before I checked it (within 30 minutes). Probably the “low life” as mentioned by mtndon..

Thanks to sb for keeping the forum clean!

I like FDE, gunmetal grey, OD green, black, and clear.

The neon green and orange colors would be awesome too. As has been said previously, maybe those are better candidates for cerakote or powder coat finishes rather than anodized?

Since I’m new to multi-battery lights, a little advice would be appreciated. Should I be avoiding unprotected cells for the LT1? Or will they be safe to use?

I hope people will get the first-batch lanterns soon. The prototype I have is really nice, and it seems batch 1 is an upgrade compared to the prototypes.

After that, it seems it might be a slow process getting batch 2 made and shipped… but it sounds like batch 2 is an upgrade too. I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

With the prototype though, I’ve been using it almost every night for months. It works well, and hardly ever needs to be charged. In particular, I use its sunset mode a lot… so I can see while getting settled in bed, and then don’t have to move to turn a light off. It just takes care of itself.

TK, that’s how I mostly use the Q8 with diffuser. I turn it on minimum intensity when it gets dark and it stays on until I get up in the morning (in case of a power outage and I need to get up to turn on the alt’ source). The LT1 will take the Q8s place and the Q8 will be used more as a flashlight. Yeah, I know there’s nothing keeping me from using it as a flashlight now, I just don’t.

Unprotected should be fine as long as they’re button tops or the positive end sticks up enough above the battery to make contact with the LT ring. You can tell by laying the positive end of the battery on a flat surface and then seeing if it rocks when you move it.

I would LOVE to see it in digital camo or realtree camo.

However, if the tint is right OD green would be nice too.
Really, not enough camo lights besides some ugly chinese patterns. Not sure if camo prints are even anodised or just painted.

Can’t wait for it to arrive, black is nice too! Thanks team!

Thumbs Up good tip idea for testing cells for contact.

Add me for another 2 or 3 of these lanterns SigShooter, only if open spots are available, but at the end of the list to make sure any new BLF members get in first before i add more.) i been showing the prototype LT1 friends & family, and they are all wanting one of these.

I added you for 3 since there are still many slots open. After your 3 there are still 41 waiting for people to adopt them Smile

I plan on using mine in a similar manner so good to know it works well in such a role.

I’ve been using my fw3a in this way. The lantern should be so much better. I can’t wait till I get mine!

Cool. That’s how I’m planning to use it most of the time; basically as a lamp in my bedroom Smile . I’ve been using an old headlamp for this purpose for almost 2 decades and am looking forward to a new solution. Unlike many of our hot-rodded flashlights, the LT1 runs the emitters low enough even at high outputs that they should last many years without degradation.
